Sometimes Hollywood comes south to visit us in Long Beach. In the past we have been part of productions such as TOP GUN and PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN, TV shows 911, BIG LITTLE LIES, and numerous photo shoots. It is both a thrill and a peek into the magic behind the camera.
Recently a team from Germany took over our Long Beach yard for an episode of ๐๐๐ฅ๐ ๐๐ก๐ฌโ๐ฆ ๐ก๐๐ซ๐ง ๐ง๐ข๐ฃ ๐ ๐ข๐๐๐. A large tent was the scene of model prep and anticipation, and it was surrounded by many trucks of grip, lighting, special effects, cameras, wardrobe and makeup, plus catering. The actual modeling was centered on a water tank set by our ๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ถ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐ฐ ๐ด๐ด๐ด ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฒ.
It was, to us tug folk, an unlikely choice. But the creative team saw what we didnโt, a foggy background, the tall arch of the Vincent Thomas Bridge, plus rugged industrial elements of a working port. Perfect for one of their episodes.
The shoot was a long day, but successful. We met celebrities, models, harried PAs, and a team that was both highly organized and efficient. Our German is too rusty to get their jokes, but the set laughter spoke well of their camaraderie. We would welcome them back again anytime. Look for the show and see if you can spot any Pacific Maritime logos.

The Linda Isle Maintenance Dredging Project is currently underway, led by Pacific Dredge & Construction on behalf of the Linda Isle Community Association and individual homeowners. This comprehensive effort includes dredging the access channel and inner lagoon, along with targeted work at individual docks and slips. In total, approximately 45,000 cubic yards of material will be removed to restore safe navigation and improve waterfront access throughout the community.
Operations are being executed with a highly coordinated fleet, including the Horton dredge, the scows Thing 1 and Thing 2, and the tug Tommy. Material is safely transported offshore to the LA-3 Offshore Disposal Site, ensuring full compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.
Projects like Linda Isle highlight Pacific Dredge & Constructionโs expertise in marina and residential waterfront dredging. The Horton dredge and Thing scows are specifically suited for shallow water and tight-access environments, allowing our experienced crews to work efficiently while minimizing disruption to surrounding properties.

It was a great day on the course this past Friday at the Propeller Club of San Diego Golf Tournament at Carlton Oaks Country Club!
It was fantastic to see such a strong turnout from across the maritime community, all coming together for a shared purpose. The event raised money in support of scholarships and ongoing club initiatives directly investing in the people and programs that keep our industry moving forward.
Pacific Maritime Group was proud to participate in and sponsor a hole for this event. Opportunities like this highlight how important it is to support maritime associations that foster connection, professional development, and the next generation of industry leaders.
