Kids can help feed other kids this summer. 🍏🤝

Children ages 6+ can come in and volunteer.
Each shift earns a fruit stamp on their punch card.
4 stamps means 4 completed shifts and they earn a prize! 🎉

📢 On Monday, big changes are coming to CalFresh when new federal rules add work and community engagement standards for many CalFresh recipients.

These requirements generally apply to adults aged 18–64 who are physically and mentally able to work and do not live with a child under 14. This group is known as Able-Bodied Adults Without Dependents (ABAWDs).

Automatic exemptions are removed for several categories, including:
• Adults aged 55–64
• Veterans
• Former foster youth
• Parents whose youngest child is 14 or older

What to expect:
• Your benefits will not stop on June 1
• The county will go over your eligibility at your next annual renewal
• If you are subject to these rules, you will need to log around 80 hours per month through work, volunteering, or approved training to keep your benefits beyond three months

Reliable access to food shouldn’t depend on school being in session. Free summer meal sites are now open across the county.

CalFresh work rules are changing as of June 1.

These changes impact ABAWDs—adults ages 18–64 without dependents. Under H.R. 1, you must work or volunteer 80 hours/month or risk losing benefits after 3 months.

Automatic exemptions for veterans, caregivers, and unhoused individuals are ending. Over 93,000 people in San Diego County could be affected—more than 106,000 by 2027.
