We are so grateful to Amazon DF02 in Oakley, CA for their continued support of our organization! In addition to donating drinks, cleaning supplies, personal care items, and grocery essentials on a regular basis, Amazon DF02 supported The Cost of Courage Foundation during this month’s volunteer day! Their team helped pack grocery bags for our mobile family pantry, personal care kits for our homebound veteran assistance program, and wrote letters for us to share with service-disabled Veterans during our distributions. We are so grateful for Amazon’s kindness and truly appreciate their compassion and commitment to those who serve and sacrifice ❤️

We are so grateful to Inner Strength Research and Wine Country CrossFit for their incredible generosity! This Memorial Day, proceeds from their Murph workout and BBQ directly supported The Cost of Courage Foundation. The success of this fundraiser will allow us to provide a scholarship for a Gold Star Child, Spouse, or and Sibling later this year ❤️ We will never forget ISR and Wine Country CrossFit’s kindness and support and the way in which this event honored and remembered the fallen.

As we observe Memorial Day, we must never forget those who have made the ultimate sacrifice so that we may be free. Our hearts are with all Gold Star Families today - their strength and courage is truly an inspiration. We are grateful to all who have served and sacrificed, especially those who never made it home. We will never forget the fallen heroes we have had the privilege of honoring through our Gold Star Scholarship Fund and Memorial Tribute Program. This week we hosted our monthly Mobile Family Pantry grocery and personal care distribution at IAMESI Village in San Jose! On a monthly basis, we distribute groceries, personal care essentials, and cleaning supplies to service disabled and previously homeless Veteran residents who are struggling with food insecurity and Veterans who are homebound as a result of their illnesses and injuries. We look forward to continuing to do this monthly distribution at IAMESI! ❤️

We were honored to present our Community Partner Award to Graystone Elementary School! We are so grateful to the students at Graystone for their support of our ongoing efforts to support military families and Veterans! Throughout 2025 and early 2026, Graystone Elementary 1st Graders have partnered with The Cost of Courage Foundation on a first of its kind project called “My Friend, The Veteran”. This project aimed to teach students what a veteran is, their duty, and how to express gratitude, respect, and appreciation for their sacrifices. As part of this project, these 1st graders led a school-wide donation drive for canned and packaged goods, made crafts to include in grocery kits for Veterans during the holidays, and supported Veteran art therapy classes which created a powerful two way exchange from veterans to students through art. Through these efforts, Graystone 1st Graders learned the meaning of civic duty to their community. We truly appreciate Graystone’s kindness and generosity and were so grateful for this incredible partnership ❤️

We were honored to sponsor our monthly Mobile Family Pantry grocery distribution at the San Francisco VA Medical Center (Fort Miley)! Through this program, we distribute no-cost groceries on a monthly basis to SFVA Veteran patients who are struggling with food insecurity. This location serves both the urban population in SF and rural Veterans throughout Northern California who rely on the SFVA for care. Additionally, we provide groceries to discharging patients who screen positive for food insecurity. We are proud to have the VA tabling alongside us in an effort to connect Veterans with the longer term resources available to them. We are grateful to the VA for their continued support of our programs and look forward to returning next month!

We enjoyed hosting our monthly Art Therapy class at the Palo Alto VA Hospital for patients at the Polytrauma Rehabilitation Center, Blind Rehabilitation Center, PTRP, Spinal Cord Injury Unit, and Addiction Recovery! This month’s project was freestyle painting! As a special treat, we once again gifted wounded, ill, and injured patients with teddy bears :) Thank you Gabrielle for your very special donation - the bears brought such joy and healing to our Veteran patients ❤️ We are grateful to the VA staff for their support and look forward to returning next month!

This month’s project was Valentine’s Day crafts! The patients painted heart shaped frames and heart theme ornaments :) As a treat, we brought cookies and juice for the patients and staff.
