What an incredible opportunity for the Selma Housing Authority (SHA) to showcase the innovative work taking place in Selma, Alabama, during the 2026 Southern Conference on Homelessness and Housing in beautiful Gulf Shores, Alabama!
Today, SHA Chief Operating Officer Cicely N. Curtis delivered an engaging presentation titled “Innovative Solutions. Stronger Communities.” The presentation highlighted how strategic partnerships, innovative thinking, and a genuine commitment to serving people are helping SHA move beyond traditional housing services to create lasting opportunities for families and strengthen the community.
From workforce development and resident services to health and wellness initiatives, homeownership opportunities, and community revitalization, SHA continues to demonstrate that housing is about more than providing a roof over someone’s head. It’s about creating pathways to opportunity, stability, self-sufficiency, and a better quality of life!
The presentation was truly a team effort as SHA President/CEO Mr. Kennard Randolph joined Curtis in sharing additional highlights of the agency’s innovative programs and initiatives. As the visionary behind this incredible work, Mr. Randolph’s forward-thinking leadership continues to challenge the SHA team to think beyond traditional housing, build meaningful partnerships, and develop solutions that make a real difference in the lives of the families they serve.
One of the most powerful messages shared during the presentation was simple: No agency can do this work alone! Strong partnerships are not just important; they are essential to expanding opportunities, maximizing resources, and creating stronger, healthier communities.
The conference provided an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas with housing professionals, highlight successful initiatives, and showcase the meaningful work being done right here in Selma, Alabama.
Selma may be a small city, but the Selma Housing Authority is doing some BIG things! Through visionary leadership, dedicated staff, and strong community partnerships, SHA is proving that innovation isn’t about the size of your agency. It’s about the size of your vision and your commitment to making a difference!
And one thing is certain… SHA is not done yet! 💙👏🏽
