🎶 Congratulations, Esther Clark! 🎶

Esther auditioned for and was accepted into the American Choral Directors Association Fall Honor Choir! 👏🎤

She will join nearly 200 other 5th and 6th grade students from across the state on November 5 at the Singletary Center for the Arts on the University of Kentucky campus.

We are so proud of Esther and this amazing accomplishment! Way to represent! ❤️🎵

Our Junior Chamber Leadership students had the opportunity to meet with Ms. Tracey Marshall today to learn about the importance of effective communication!

Students practiced giving clear, precise messages, separating facts from opinions, and using closed-loop communication to ensure messages are understood. They also explored the difference between objective and subjective information.

These skills will help our student leaders become stronger communicators, critical thinkers, and leaders! We appreciate Ms. Marshall sharing her knowledge and expertise with our students!

This morning, our Junior Chamber Leadership students had the opportunity to hear from Steve Meador, who spoke to them about entrepreneurship and what it takes to turn an idea into a business!

Afterward, students put their creativity and problem-solving skills to the test with Shark Tank Junior! 🦈 Students worked to develop their own businesses and products before pitching their ideas to the team.

Some of their creative ideas included trading cards, water guns in ceilings to help mop floors, a tape button dispenser, mop shoes, and a robot cleaner!

We love seeing our students think outside the box, collaborate with others, and develop the confidence to share their ideas. Who knows? We may have some future entrepreneurs in the making! 👏

Our Kindergarten Colts are becoming amazing story tellers! 🐴💙

Students are building confidence as writers by illustrating stories filled with meaningful details and labels. Our young illustrators can even retell their stories by tapping on each detail, and sharing what it represents. We are so proud of the creativity, confidence, and storytelling happening in Kindergarten!

We’re so glad to have Officer Burba teaching D.A.R.E. at CCE! 💙 Our students are learning to research, write an essay, think critically, and understand what it means to be a Global Citizen. 🌎📚

These are key components of Shelby County’s Profile of a Graduate and important skills that will help prepare our students for success beyond the classroom! We’re thankful for Officer Burba and all she does for our students! 👏💙
