Greeting our students in the morning is truly one of the best parts of my day, especially when I get to meet Skowhegan's future police officers. Today, "SWAT Officer" Owen stopped by to let me know he is ready to help keep our community a safe place to live, work, and visit. Owen escorts his big sister to school every single day, ensuring she gets inside safely. With that kind of dedication, he already has the right mindset for public service. Thank you for the backup today, Officer Owen! Chief Bucknam

It’s early Skowhegan but I’ve already got to introduce myself. Met a super nice citizen from Madison. It’s 35* degrees out and the deer are everywhere crossing the road. Please slow down. There are much better ways to get your venison this year. Have a great day. Keeping Skowhegan a safe place to live, work, and visit. Chief Bucknam

If you’ve been wondering why there are so many police cars in town from all over the state, it’s due to training at the Skowhegan Public Safety Building. This week, law enforcement officers attended the FBI Command Leadership Institute. This training has been brought to Central Maine by Skowhegan Police Department and helps bridge the travel distances that caused agencies such as ours from attending. Great training this week. Good morning Skowhegan, its early and chilly on this back road in town. I’ve seen a few cars that are driving around. No one is crazy by driving to fast. They are driving the limit which is all I ask. Have a safe day and enjoy the sun. Don’t get caught for speeding and you will enjoy the fun. Stay safe Skowhegan. Keeping Skowhegan a safe place to live, work, and visit. Chief Bucknam

Good morning, Skowhegan! It’s a chilly and rainy start to the day, but the views along the Kennebec River are beautiful right now. If you're out and about, it’s absolutely worth stopping! Stay safe on the roads today. Keeping Skowhegan a great place to live, work, and visit. Chief Bucknam

Good morning Skowhegan. This is a pretty awesome way to see the day start. Not liking the 32* right now but that giant heat tab in the sky will change that. Enjoy your morning coffee and have a great day. Time to say good morning to the kiddos at Margret Chase Smith School. Another great way to start the day 😊 Keeping Skowhegan a safe place to live, work, and visit. Chief Bucknam

Good morning Skowhegan,
Yesterday, Town Manager Aaron Miller and I had the privilege of welcoming the Declaration of Independence to Skowhegan. It was a remarkable, once in a lifetime opportunity to stand before the very document that serves as the bedrock of our nation, an experience that was powerful.
If you have the chance, I highly recommend visiting the Margaret Chase Smith Library to see it in person later this week. It is truly extraordinary. Keeping Skowhegan a safe place to live, work, and visit. Chief Bucknam
