Since the 1950s, Fred’s has been part of downtown Snohomish’s story. For generations, it’s been a place where friendships grew, stories were shared, and countless memories were made. When Wayne and Lisa Mascotti reimagined the former Fred’s Rivertown Alehouse as F.R.E.D’s, they wanted to honor everything that came before while making room for new memories.
From an original chalkboard that once hung in a local elementary school to historic photographs, recipes, and tributes to the people who shaped its past, the restaurant is filled with thoughtful reminders of the stories that make this place special.
We love seeing downtown businesses embrace our community’s history while adding their own chapter to it. Because preserving what makes Snohomish special isn’t about keeping everything the same. It’s about carrying those stories forward for the next generation. ❤️
🎙️ Hear Wayne share the story behind F.R.E.D’s in the latest episode of Snohomish Storytellers.

🎄 SAVE THE DATE! Snohomish Tree Lighting | Saturday, November 28th
If you want to experience a little small-town Christmas magic, this is it. We still get goosebumps watching Snohomish Film Company video from last year’s Tree Lighting. There’s just something special about a whole community coming together, singing Christmas carols, counting down in unison, and watching downtown light up for the holidays. It’s the kind of magic that might just make even the grown-ups believe in Santa Claus again.

🎅 FREE Photos with Santa & Hot Cocoa | 3–4:30 PM
Santa will be inside the Snohomish Carnegie Building for free photos! We recommend arriving no later than 4 PM if you’d like to get your photo taken.

🥫 Give Back to Our Community
We’ll also be collecting donations for the Snohomish Food Bank. Bring a donation and help spread a little extra joy to our neighbors this season.

🎄 Tree Lighting Countdown
Gather with your friends, family, and neighbors as we sing together and count down to the moment our beautiful downtown Christmas tree lights up!

Some traditions remind us just how special it is to call Snohomish home. We can’t wait to share this one with you.

🎈Wayne and Lisa Mascotti’s Snohomish story includes a pretty unforgettable marriage proposal… in a hot air balloon above town! Which makes us wonder… how many engagement rings have accidentally fallen out of hot air balloons over Snohomish? 😂💍

What started with a charming little town grew into lasting friendships, meaningful connections, and a community they’re proud to be part of.

That’s one of our favorite things about the Snohomish Storytellers Podcast. Behind every downtown business are people with their own stories, and getting to know them helps us feel more connected to the place we share. ❤️

🎧 Get to know Wayne beyond the restaurants! Hear more about his journey, the people who made Snohomish feel like home, and the memories he’s helping create in the latest episode.
