UPCOMING ROAD CLOSURE ⚠️ Tuolumne County Road Crews will be performing vegetation and ditch operations necessitating a closure on the following county-maintained road(s):
• Full closure - Cherokee Road from Tuolumne Road to Tuolumne Road North on Monday. November 2, 2026 – 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
• Full closure - Cherokee Road from 19211 Cherokee Road (Covers Apple Ranch) to Tuolumne Road North on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, through Friday, November 6, 2026 – 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Please note, businesses in the area will remain open during their normal business hours.

Residents and school services will have access through the work zone during the closure,
with delays of up to 15 minutes.

Emergency response vehicles and personnel will continue to have access throughout the
duration of the closure.

DETOUR – Please use the intersection of Tuolumne Road and Tuolumne Road North as an alternative route during the closure.

Please be aware of all traffic control signs and/ or personnel in the work zone.

TONIGHT 📆 The Tuolumne County Public Works Department will be hosting a community meeting regarding the Jamestown Community Connectivity Project as follows:

DATE: Friday, October 23, 2026
TIME: LOCATION: 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Jamestown Elementary School – 18299 5th Ave, Jamestown, CA 95327

The Jamestown Community Connectivity Project will improve pedestrian and bicycle connectivity within Jamestown by constructing approximately 4,200 feet of new sidewalk, a new bike path, curbs and gutters, and ADA-accessible improvements.

Construction is scheduled to begin in summer 2027. Residents and property owners along the following roads are encouraged to review the map below and attend to understand how the work could directly impact them: Fourth Ave, Fifth Ave, Sixth Ave, Seventh St, Eighth St, Donovan St, and Willow St.

This meeting will provide residents with an opportunity to learn more about the project and the roads being affected, along with a time to have any questions regarding the project answered.

America Recycles Day is Sunday, November 15, 2026. The Tuolumne County Public Works Department, Solid Waste Division, is hosting two drive-thru recycling collection events open to all Tuolumne County residents with proof of residency.

Household hazardous waste materials will be accepted by appointment only at the Cal Sierra Waste Management Recycling Center located at 14959 Camage Avenue in Sonora on November 15th from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM. To schedule an appointment, please call (209) 533-5588.

All nonhazardous waste materials will be accepted at Standard Park, located at 18500 Tuolumne Road, on November 15th from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM. No appointment is required.

Please see the attached flyer for a complete list of acceptable items at each event. For more information, please contact the Tuolumne County Solid Waste Division at (209) 533-5588.

The work is anticipated to take place on Monday, October 26, 2026, to Thursday, October 29, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Residents and school services will continue to have access through the work zone during the
closure, with delays of up to 15 minutes.

Emergency response vehicles and personnel will continue to have access throughout the duration of the closure.

DETOUR - Through-traffic is advised to use Standard Road or the intersection of Mono Way and Tuolumne Road as an alternative route during the closure.

Recent work included shoulder and ditch regrading on Cedar Springs Road, hot patching on Confidence Road, brushing in the West Division, and more.
