Greetings Southampton, The Southampton Police Department will be among area departments participating in National Drug Take Back Day this Saturday , October 24th , 2026 from 10AM -2PM. Feel free to stop by the police department parking lot to dispose of unused medicines, vitamins, and vet meds. This is a drive up event where officers can assist . Please note that liquids , syringes, IV equipment , and chemotherapy drugs are not accepted. Please see attached flyer for details . Thank You , SPD

Good Afternoon Southampton,

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the Southampton Police Department, Southampton Fire Department, Easthampton Police Department, Easthampton Regional Dispatch, Department of Conservation and Recreation, and the Massachusetts State Police for their rapid response and assistance in locating a 4-year-old child who wandered into the woods today.

The response and coordinated deployment of personnel, technology, and equipment enabled a comprehensive search effort and provided the best possible chance of finding the child safely. I am grateful to report that the child was found safe and uninjured.

I attribute this success to the remarkable partnerships, professionalism and care and concern of all who responded.

We are actively searching the area of Russellville Road and Gilbert Road for a missing four year old boy. He is wearing a white sweatshirt, red pants, blue rain boots. Please check your properties and outbuildings. Please be on the lookout, and call 911 immediately if located.

Please be advised that there have been several possible sightings of Timofey Gavrilyuk, a non-verbal autistic 26-year-old white male, missing from Westfield since 9/24. The recent sightings have been along the Rt10 corridor in Southampton. These sightings are being actively investigated. Please contact Detective Sergeant Brian Freeman of the Westfield Police Department with any information you may have should you believe you may have seen him (413) 562-5411 or 911 if you believe you actively see him.

Southampton Fire currently operating at a structure fire on Pequot Rd.

Update at 8:26pm Easthampton tower, Westfield and Holyoke Engines on scene operating . X1 requesting tankers from Barnes and Westover

Update at 10:30pm Hazmat and DEP on scene assisting with fluids from vehicles that were affected on scene.

Update at 11:10pm Easthampton ladder remaining on scene all other mutual aid departments have been released.

Before allowing your child to ride, parents should know exactly what they are purchasing. A bike that looks like an e-bike may actually be an electric motorcycle or off-road vehicle that is not legal to operate on public roads, sidewalks, or bicycle paths.
