Sometimes, the hardest things to talk about are the things we need someone to hear the most.

Maybe you're afraid no one will understand. Maybe you don't know how to put your feelings into words. Maybe you've kept something inside for so long that speaking about it feels overwhelming.

Whatever you're carrying, please remember: You deserve to be heard. Your feelings matter. And you don't have to face the hard things alone. 🩵

Healing doesn't require you to share your story before you're ready. You get to choose when, how, and with whom you share your experiences. But when you're ready, you deserve a safe space where you can speak freely, be met with compassion, and know that you will be treated with dignity and respect.

It's okay to cry.
It's okay not to have the right words.
It's okay to ask someone to listen.
It's okay to take your time.
And it's okay to reach out for support.

Sometimes, one conversation can be the beginning of feeling a little less alone.

At The Teal House, we believe every voice deserves to be heard. We are committed to creating a community where survivors are met with compassion, where difficult conversations are welcomed, and where no one has to feel ashamed of their story.

You don't have to carry your story in silence. When you're ready to talk, you deserve someone who will listen.

Whether you're going out with friends, attending a party, enjoying a night downtown, or meeting someone new, everyone deserves to feel safe.

While sexual violence is never the victim's fault, there are practical steps we can take to look out for ourselves and the people around us. 💙

A FEW SAFETY TIPS TO KEEP IN MIND:

🚗 Plan your transportation. Know how you're getting home before you head out. Whenever possible, travel with people you trust.

📱 Keep your phone charged. Make sure you can contact someone if you need help, and consider sharing your plans with a trusted friend.

👯 Check in with your friends. Look out for one another, respect each other's boundaries, and make sure everyone has a safe way home.

🥤 Keep an eye on your drink. Never leave your drink unattended. If something tastes, smells, or looks unusual, stop drinking it and seek help if needed.

🚩 Trust your instincts. If a situation or person makes you uncomfortable, it's okay to leave, say no, or ask someone you trust for support.

💙 Respect consent. Consent must be freely given, informed, and ongoing. Being in a relationship, flirting, or accepting a drink never means someone owes another person anything.

🫶 Be an active bystander. If you see someone who appears uncomfortable or unsafe, check in with them or get help from a trusted person or venue staff when it's safe to do so.

🌿 Remember: These tips are about looking out for one another, not placing responsibility on potential victims. Sexual violence is never the fault of the person who experiences it.

At The Teal House, we believe everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and heard. Let's build a community that looks out for one another and stands together against sexual violence. 💙

The internet can be an amazing place for children to learn, explore, and connect with others. But just as we teach children how to stay safe in the world around them, we must also teach them how to stay safe online. 💻🛡️

Predators may use games, social media, chat rooms, and messaging apps to build trust with children and take advantage of their innocence. That's why having ongoing, age-appropriate conversations about internet safety is so important.

Here are a few ways parents and caregivers can help protect children online:

🔹 Keep the conversation open. Encourage children to tell you if something online makes them feel uncomfortable, confused, or scared.

🔹 Protect personal information. Teach children not to share their full name, address, school, phone number, location, or private photos with people they don't know and trust.

🔹 Know who they're talking to. Online friends may not always be who they claim to be. Talk about the risks of communicating with strangers and meeting online contacts in person.

🔹 Recognize red flags. Explain that no one should ask them to keep uncomfortable secrets, send private pictures, or move conversations to private platforms to hide them from trusted adults.

🔹 Create a safe space to speak up. Let children know they can come to you about anything they experience online. If someone makes them uncomfortable, they will not be in trouble for telling you.

Most importantly, remind children that they can ALWAYS say no, block someone, and ask a trusted adult for help.

Internet safety isn't about creating fear. It's about building trust, teaching boundaries, and giving children the confidence to recognize unsafe situations and speak up.

At The Teal House, we believe protecting children starts with education, awareness, and a community that listens. Let's work together to keep our children safe, both online and offline. 💙

One conversation today could help protect a child tomorrow.

Sometimes, the hardest words to say are “I need help.”

Maybe you're afraid of being judged. Maybe you're worried no one will understand. Maybe you've spent so much time being strong for everyone else that you've forgotten you deserve support, too.

Whatever your reason, we want you to know this: You do not have to face everything alone. 💙

Asking for help doesn't make you weak. Speaking up doesn't make you a burden. And reaching out doesn't mean you've failed to handle things on your own.

It takes courage to share your story. It takes strength to admit when things feel overwhelming. And it takes bravery to take that first step toward healing.

Whether you're a survivor navigating the aftermath of trauma or someone struggling to find your way through a difficult season, please remember that you deserve to be heard, supported, and treated with compassion.

You don't have to have all the answers. You don't have to be ready to share every detail. You just have to know that you deserve help.

At The Teal House, we believe no one should have to navigate the impact of sexual violence alone. We are here to listen, support, and help you find a path forward.

Let this be your reminder: It's okay to ask for help. It's okay to lean on someone. And it's okay to let someone help carry the weight.
