How are we feeling this morning?

Did everyone survive the sugar crash? 🍫
Did the kids actually go to bed, or are they still running on approximately 52 pounds of candy?
Did you find all the candy wrappers… or are some of them now permanently part of the furniture? 😂

Okay, enough about the important stuff.

POP QUIZ! 🚨

When you changed your clocks this weekend, DID YOU CHANGE THE BATTERIES IN YOUR SMOKE ALARMS? 🔋👀

If you haven’t yet, now’s the time! Change those batteries!

Stay safe, Statesboro! ❤️🚒

It’s a busy weekend! 🎃

I know you’ve got important things to do today… like ghouling around, eating entirely too much candy, and your body making its way through a sugar roller coaster. 👻

BUT… while you’re changing your clocks tonight, take a minute to change the batteries in your smoke alarms, too!

Because the only thing we want haunting your house is a Halloween decoration — NOT a smoke alarm with a dying battery or something much worse. 🫣

While you’re at it:
✔️ Test your smoke alarms
✔️ Replace those old batteries
✔️ Check your carbon monoxide alarms
✔️ Make sure everyone knows two ways out of the house

So go ahead and enjoy your Halloween. 🎃
Ghouls, goblins, costumes and candy? Absolutely.
Dead smoke alarm batteries? No, no, no!

Change your clocks. Change your batteries. You don’t have to eat “just one more piece.” It’ll be there tomorrow. 🤪

Stay safe! ❤️

🎃👻 Ladder 3 had a sweet assignment yesterday! 🍬🚒

The crew of Ladder 3 had a blast at the YMCA Trunk or Treat! We saw LOTS of kiddos, some seriously creative costumes, and enough candy to keep the sugar rush going well into next week. 😂🍫🍭

From superheroes and princesses to all kinds of wonderfully creative costumes, these little trick-or-treaters definitely understood the assignment!

A huge thank you to the Statesboro Family YMCA for having us out and to everyone who stopped by to say hello, show off their costumes, and help us empty our candy supply. ❤️

Ladder 3 may have arrived with a truck full of firefighters… but we left with a whole lot of smiles. 🎃🚒

Until next time, keep the costumes cute and the candy coming! 🍫🍭🍬

Yo, it's Friday, and it feels fa-boo-lous! 🎉🎃👻

The humidity is taking a brief vacation, the temperatures are dropping, and somebody’s already acting like we live in a Hallmark Christmas movie. SMH. We have a few holidays before we get there, guys. Calm down. 🤣

Before y’all break out the flannel and ALL the hoodies, fire up the fire pit, and start burning every stick in a 10-mile radius, let’s talk about some fall fire safety!

🔥 Fire pits are for s’mores, not neighborhood-wide bonfires. Keep fires away from your house, deck, dry leaves, and anything else that burns. Never leave a fire unattended, and make sure it’s completely out before heading inside.

🍂 Those leaves aren’t just yard decorations. Dry leaves can ignite quickly, especially near outdoor fire pits, grills, and equipment. Keep them cleared away from your house and anything that produces heat.

🏠 Your space heater is NOT a clothes dryer. Keep heaters at least 3 feet away from anything that can burn, plug them directly into a wall outlet (nooo to extension cords or power strips!), and turn them off when you leave the room or go to bed.

🕯️ Pumpkin spice season does not require 47 candles burning simultaneously. Nobody needs that headache. Keep candles away from curtains, decorations, pets (& kids), and anything else that could catch fire. Battery-operated candles are a great alternative!

🍳 The kitchen is not the place to abandon your responsibilities. If you’re frying up some Friday night goodness, stay in the kitchen. We don't make the rules! Unattended cooking is a leading cause of home fires.

🚨 And please, for the love of all things sweet tea & pecan pie, check your smoke alarms! Test them monthly and make sure everyone in your home knows TWO ways out and where to meet outside.

We want y’all to enjoy the cooler weather, the bonfires, the football, and all the fall festivities. We just prefer to enjoy them without making an unexpected appearance at your house. 😉

Happy Friday, Statesboro! Stay cozy, stay safe, and please don’t make us come ruin your s’mores. 🍫🚒 (Don't be killing us, Smalls!)

🎡🚒 WE’RE HEADED TO THE FAIR! 🚒🎡

Come find us at the fair! We’ll be hanging out, saying hello, pretending we’re there strictly for community outreach… and absolutely NOT for the funnel cakes or fried Oreos. 👀😂

🎀 We’ll also have our Breast Cancer Awareness T-shirts available for purchase! 💗

So come see us, grab a shirt, show your support, and while you’re at it, feel free to bring us a funnel cake. We won’t ask questions. 😂🍰

Because nothing says “supporting the community” quite like firefighters, pink T-shirts, and questionable fair food choices. 😆

🎀 Come see us. Grab a shirt. Support the cause. Eat the funnel cake.

We’ll see y’all at the fair! 💗🎡🚒

🐝The fire station was officially overrun by Bumblebees on Friday. 😂

We had a fantastic visit from Bumblebees Childcare for a station tour, and let’s just say… we may have found our newest recruits. 👀

We had a great time showing everyone around, talking about what firefighters do, and—most importantly—letting the kids see the trucks. Because let’s be honest… the trucks are the real celebrities around here. 😂

We loved having all our little visitors stop by, and we hope they had as much fun as we did!

🔥 HAPPY BOSS’S DAY, CHIEF! 🔥

Chief Grams somehow manages to keep this circus running, the trucks moving, and the firefighters pointed in roughly the right direction. That alone deserves a medal. 🏅

He’s got the 5 bugles.
He’s got the title.
He’s got the authority.

And, most importantly… he has the patience to deal with us. 🤣 Most of the time.

So today, we’d like to thank Chief Grams for his leadership, his dedication, and his unwavering ability to look at whatever questionable situation we’ve created and simply say, “Seriously?” 😂

We appreciate you, El Jefe!

Happy Boss’s Day from the people who keep you on your toes, test your patience, and occasionally make you wonder why you ever took this job in the first place. 😏🔥

Don’t worry, Chief… we’ll behave today.

Probably.

We had a blast recently welcoming the kiddos from one of the Kidsworld Pre-K classes to our firehouse! We loved showing them around the station, answering their questions, and giving them a little peek into life here.

Now, you’d think the fire engine, all the lights and sirens, or the firefighter gear would steal the show… but nope. The undisputed fan favorite? The folding step on the back of the fire engine. 😂

Thank you, Kidsworld Pre-K, for spending part of your day with us! We had so much fun with y’all, and we’re always happy to share a little firehouse magic with our littlest community members! ❤️✨
