October was a busy month in the library! Our Beacons got to visit Camp Read-a-Lot to scout out new books to read and explore! Then, our families made so many creative pumpkins for our literary pumpkin patch. Congratulations to The Murphy Family who won top prize for their Lorax pumpkin!

In honor of National School Bus Safety week, we want to celebrate the dedicated bus drivers at Beech Hill Elementary. These amazing men and women make sure our Beacons get to and from school safely and we are so grateful for all of them!

Thursday evening was a lot of fun with nearly 50 people in attendance at our MCEC group. It started with Marley sharing some of Dan Leone's air drops and connecting him to the WWII pilot in the story "The Candy Bomber." Kids listened attentively as Dan read the book and answered questions. Afterwards, families received a hard copy of the book, pizza, and a craft, which was a parachute connected to a piece of chocolate. Thank you to all those military families who joined us Thursday night!
