This week at Syracuse Latin was filled with celebration, connection, and community!
Our 8th grade students made memories that will last a lifetime as they celebrated their final year as Latin Legends at their 8th Grade Dance at Green Lakes. Dressed to impress and ready to have fun, our students danced the night away and enjoyed a special evening with friends as they begin counting down the final weeks of their middle school journey.
Meanwhile, learning came full circle for our 3rd graders as they wrapped up their crayfish science unit. To celebrate their learning, our 7th grade students joined them to share presentations about crayfish habitats, life cycles, and adaptations. It was wonderful to see older and younger students learning together and building connections across grade levels.
We also had the privilege of supporting some of the incredible caregivers in our school community by hosting a Caregiver Luncheon for families of students with complex medical needs. Families gathered to share a meal, connect with one another, and learn about resources available through local community partners. A special thank you to Bianchi's for generously donating the meal and helping make this event possible.
From celebrating milestones to sharing knowledge and supporting one another, this week reminded us that Syracuse Latin is more than a school-it's a community that learns, grows, and cares together.

This week at Syracuse Latin, we had so much to celebrate-but most importantly, we celebrated the incredible people who help our students LIGHT the way every single day: our amazing teachers and staff!
All week long, we talked about how our educators continue to raise the bar for students through their dedication, encouragement, and hard work-so this week, it was our turn to raise the bar for them! From special treats to games and celebrations throughout the week, we loved showing our appreciation for the people who make Syracuse Latin such a special place to learn and grow.
A huge shoutout goes to our wonderful families and the Friends of Syracuse Latin PTO, who helped make the week extra special by volunteering and providing delicious treats like a sandwich bar and coffee bar for staff. Your support and generosity mean so much to our school community!
And while we celebrated our staff, we also got to see the impact of their hard work in action. Our middle school students tackled their New York State Mathematics assessments with confidence and determination, while our elementary students celebrated their achievements during our 3rd Marking Period Awards Breakfast.
We also want to give a very special congratulations to one of our own, Ms. Davis, who was recognized as the CTE Staff Member of the Year! 🎉 We are so proud to celebrate this well-deserved honor and grateful for the passion and excellence she brings to Syracuse Latin each day.
This week was a beautiful reminder that when teachers, students, families, and community come together, amazing things happen.

Our 2nd grade students also took learning on the road during their grade-level field trip to the MOST Museum, where hands-on exploration brought science and discovery to life.
And finally, we are incredibly proud of our kindergarten and 4th grade teams, who were invited to present the Project Based Learning lessons they developed this year to teachers and leaders across the district. Their innovation and hard work are helping inspire learning beyond our own building!
From testing triumphs to student showcases and district leadership, this week was another reminder that Syracuse Latin students and staff continue to LIGHT the way.
This week, the spotlight shines on one of the most exciting parts of our school year—Enrichment Classes! 🌟
This week marked the official close of our 2026 Enrichment Program, and what an incredible journey it has been. Throughout the year, our students had the opportunity to explore interests, discover new talents, and learn in creative ways through more than 40 different enrichment clubs.
From sewing club to stop-motion animation, bridge building to improv club, Legos to designing adaptive equipment, and workout & wellness to farming and agriculture—our legends showed curiosity, teamwork, and passion every step of the way.
Enrichment classes remind us that learning happens in so many ways, especially when students are given the chance to follow their passions and try something new.

And finally, a big round of applause for Ms. Ditre's kindergarten class, who earned the best attendance for the month of March! It was a close competition, but our youngest learners showed us what it means to be on time, ready to learn, and committed each day.
