We lost one of our youngest Syracusans in a devastating fire last night. My condolences to that little one’s family. Please also keep our first responders in your thoughts and prayers following their truly heroic efforts at this emergency.

A child was killed and several other people were taken to the hospital after an early morning house fire on Syracuse’s South Side.

Congratulations to Syracuse’s own World Series Champ Pat Murphy! The Syracuse born-and-raised manager of the Milwaukee Brewers is taking home his World Series ring after last night’s Game 5 win over Tampa Bay.

Murphy, a CBA grad who grew up in Eastwood, led the Brewers to the first World Series title in franchise history.

Rest in Power Dolores Huerta. A life well lived fighting for the rights of workers. Dolores will always be remembered as one of our nation’s great civil rights leaders

Huerta co-founded the United Farm Workers union to improve working conditions in the nation's fruit and vegetable fields and coined the phrase "Sí, se puede!" that became a widespread rallying cry.

I had the opportunity to participate in Aurora of CNY's Blind Immersion program, learning more about the daily life of our blind neighbors is like and what resources exist in our community. This was an enlightening experience and I appreciate Aurora bringing this program to City Hall.
