🚨ACTION ALERT🚨

Friends & allies. Please join us next Tuesday, May 26th at 9:30AM at the Federal Building (100 State St) in Rochester for a rally, press conference and to PACK THE COURT for Dolores!!

Dolores is a farmworker, grandmother and leader who has been detained by ICE since April 22nd. On May 26th, the Court will hear evidence from Dolores’ lawyers to demonstrate that she was unlawfully detained and non-citizens like her cannot be ripped away from us without notice or opportunity to respond.

🕘 WHEN: TUESDAY, MAY 26TH: 9:00AM GATHER➡️9:30AM PRESS CONFERENCE➡️11:00AM HEARING

📍WHERE: UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE WESTERN DISTRICT OF NY, FEDERAL BUILDING, 100 STATE STREET, ROCHESTER, NY 14614

PLEASE BE AWARE: We want to pack the court and, not all of us will be able to enter the courtroom due to capacity limitations, but we want to ensure that friends and family of Dolores are able to attend the hearing. We ask that participants support our efforts to help reach these goals. We hope that enough people will attend to show solidarity and support and if the courtroom reaches capacity, a groundswell of supporters outside will have just as powerful an impact.

Members, allies and friends,

As many of you have heard by now, a beloved Board Member of WCCNY, advocate for women’s and farmworker’s rights and community organizer Dolores Bustamante was detained yesterday at her ICE check-in.

We have since learned that she was transferred to a jail in Ohio and subsequently to a detention facility in Louisiana. Further separating her from her family and the community that is fighting for her release, despite a judge’s order to keep her in NY.

There are several steps you can take RIGHT NOW to help bring her home!

➡️Donate to her legal defense fund via the GoFundMe link in our bio

📲 Call Governor Hochul’s office at (518) 474-8390 and Senator Gillibrand’s offices, Buffalo (716) 854-9725, Albany (518) 854-9725, Washington (202) 224-4451. DEMAND they do everything in their power to secure her release! Tell them that a habeas petition was filed on her behalf yesterday, that a judge has ordered her not to be removed from the state or deported. As such, ICE is in violation of a judicial order!!
