I'm proud to share that Pierce County's IT and Elections teams have earned a GovX Award for their innovative ballot collection and tracking system. This is the third award recognizing a project that has strengthened election security, improved accountability, and made ballot collection more efficient.

I stopped by the Pierce County Elections Center to hear from Elections Specialist Janielle Tomlin about how this technology is helping ensure every ballot is collected securely and accounted for.

With the November 3 election just around the corner, I also want to remind everyone to make their voice heard! Pierce County has 58 official ballot drop boxes, including eight new locations this year. Return your ballot to any official drop box by 8 p.m. on Election Day to ensure it's counted.

Congratulations to our hardworking IT and Elections staff for another great example of how we're moving Pierce County Forward Together!

🚤 Nothing can stop democracy!

When the ferry to Anderson Island broke down, our ballot drop box team didn’t let that stop them from collecting ballots. With help from Pierce County Planning & Public Works and Emergency Management, our team found another way to get the job done — by boat! 🌊

A big thank you to our Public Works and Emergency Management partners for helping make it happen! ❤️🤍💙

Rain or shine, ferry or boat, we’re committed to making sure every ballot gets where it needs to go. 💪

🪿 Be a cool goose, not a silly goose. Vote early!

Today is Vote Early Day, and what better way to celebrate than by returning your ballot today? 🗳️

Why vote early? Because when you return your ballot early, you can rest easy knowing it’s been received before Election Day. It also gives you time to fix any issues that may come up, like a mismatched signature.

And there’s a bonus: Ballots returned early are included in the first preliminary results released on Election Night. 👀

📬 We have 58 ballot drop boxes open 24/7. Find one near you at PierceCountyWA.gov/Elections.

Election Day is Nov. 3. We recommend using an official ballot drop box once you’re within a week of Election Day to make sure your ballot gets back to us on time.

Don’t be a silly goose and wait until the last minute. 🪿 Vote early!

🚨Are you registered to vote? Is your voter registration up to date? ✨📝

Monday, October 26, is the last day to register or update your voter information online at VoteWA.gov for the November 3 General Election. Don't delay!

If you miss the online deadline, you can still register to vote and get your ballot in person at a vote center up until 8 p.m. on election day!
