✏️📖 Once upon a time... in English 2...

Mrs. Rouse's students are putting their creativity into words as they work on narrative essays. From developing engaging characters and vivid settings to crafting compelling plots, these young writers are learning how to turn ideas into stories worth telling.

📝 Why does it matter? Narrative writing strengthens creativity, critical thinking, and communication skills. It challenges students to organize their thoughts, develop their unique voices, and connect with readers through the power of storytelling.

Every Blazer has a story to tell, and we're glad to be a part of it. 🩵🔥

🦴 We've got a skele-TON of learning going on! 💀

Our GMC Anatomy students are getting hands-on with the skeletal system! From examining vertebrae to exploring the structure of the skull, these Blazers are putting their knowledge to the test using anatomical models.

🧠 Why does it matter? Understanding how bones fit together and function helps students connect classroom concepts to the human body. Hands-on exploration builds critical thinking, strengthens observation skills, and brings anatomy to life!

No bones about it… learning looks good on our Blazers! 🔥🩻

Thank you to Jonathan Rhodes from the Student Loan Corporation for meeting with our parents and educating them about the financial process.

Our parents showed up in grand style! Mr. Rhodes shared a wealth of valuable information about federal, state, and local scholarships, grants, and loans.

📚 ¡Aprendiendo español! 📚

Our Spanish 2 students are putting their language skills to work by translating English sentences into Spanish in Mr. Rainey's class.

While it may seem like a simple exercise, translation challenges students to think beyond individual vocabulary words. They must apply grammar rules, understand sentence structure, and recognize how ideas are expressed differently across languages.

🌎 Why does it matter? Learning a second language strengthens critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills while helping students develop a greater appreciation for other cultures.

One sentence at a time, our Blazers are building the confidence to communicate beyond the classroom! 🔥

We're wrapping up the week with Day 2 of Student-Led Conferences! Remember, there are no regular classes today, and students attending their scheduled conferences should be in dress code.

This Friday, October 23rd is Day 2 of Student-Led Conferences. Students who have a scheduled SLC should be in dress code to conduct the conference. Students who conducted their SLC on Thursday should not report to school.

👻🎃 Spooky season is in full swing! Trunk-or-Treat is happening today from 5:30-7:30 at GMC, followed by the XC Haunted Trail at the GPA campus tomorrow!

Our No-Go Silent Auction is just around the corner, and we need your help to make it a success!

🎁 Parents may log service hours for donations made to the silent auction! This is a great way to support GMC while earning your required service hours.

Hello Blazer Family!
Tomorrow is SLC Friday. Only students and parents who have a scheduled SLC should report to school.
Teachers and most all other faculty will be in or a part of an SLC and therefore will not be available tomorrow for any drop-in meetings. Please plan accordingly if you need to speak or meet with someone.
Tomorrow is still Blazer Week. If you/your student paid for the all-week dress down, they may wear jeans and GMC attire. Otherwise, students should be in dress code for their Friday SLC.
We are having an Info Night this Monday, the 26th at 6:30 pm in the gym. Clubs, teams, and other organizations will be set up early. If you know anyone who may be interested in attending GMC next school year, please tell them to attend!
