The payment kiosk located at city hall is currently out of order. We are actively working to have it back up and running for our citizens. You maybe still make payments in person, online, or over the phone. We apologize for this inconvenience!

We have restored power to all citizens from known outages. If you are still experiencing an outage or other utility related issue, please call 334-566-0177 to report. Thank you to all of our linemen for their hard work these past 24 hours.

For customers on Shellhorn Road and in River Ridge, there is a broken pole that has both us and South Alabama Electric on it. We will not be able to restore power to our customers until they have replaced the pole and repaired their lines. Due to the large number of outages they have, it may be some time until we can make repairs. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

1:30AM Update - The worst of the winds have died down and the rain is ending, so our crews are mobilizing to begin assessments and repairs. We will work safely and diligently until all power that can be restored is restored. Please continue to keep those affected by the storm and those out working in your prayers.

10/10/2026

The winds are continuing to increase making travel and working conditions hazardous. We will continue power restoration when it is safe to do so. Please continue to report any outages to 311 or 334-566-0177, and stay safe and indoors for the next several hours unless it is an emergency. Prayers for everyone’s safety until the storm passes.

In addition to storm preparations ongoing, this morning our crews went through scheduled training for rescuing an injured lineman who was climbing a pole or in a bucket truck. Thanks to James Adams with Electric Cities of Georgia for working with our linemen to go over and help each one practice these life-saving skills. We hope they are never needed but want to be sure that our linemen are always ready.
Please be weather-aware this weekend and keep those in the path of or working during the storm in your prayers.

Water Update 3:00PM 10/5/26

Water service has been restored, and our crews will continue to monitor the system and flush throughout the night to help eliminate discolored water. Thank you for your continued patience as our crews work to finish.

Water leak update: our crews are actively repairing the leak. Water service is off to a localized area of CHHS and a few surrounding buildings.

You may experience discolored water at your business or residence throughout the day, caused by the impact this very large leak had on our water system. We will be working to flush lines and assist with this problem. Thank you for your continued patience as we work to make repairs.

* if the water in your area is discolored, it is still safe to drink and is treated to meet all standards.
