Fall Driving Safety Reminder from the Rensselaer County Department of Health Emergency Preparedness Division:

As the seasons change, so do driving conditions! With wet leaves on the roads and daylight hours getting shorter following the time change, it's important to take extra precautions behind the wheel.

It gets darker earlier! Turn on your headlights, watch for pedestrians and cyclists, and be extra alert during evening commutes.

Give yourself extra time and space. Increase your following distance and avoid sudden stops or sharp turns.

Watch for pedestrians! Children walking home from school, runners, and cyclists can be harder to see in low-light conditions.

A few extra seconds of caution can make all the difference. Let's keep our roads safe for everyone this fall!

Slow down, stay alert, and arrive safely!
