🐾 Fee-Waived Adoptions on June 6 at Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe 🐾
The Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe is proud to join shelters across the state for California Adopt-a-Pet Day on Saturday, June 6.
Thanks to support from the ASPCA, adoption fees will be waived for available pets. Every adopted animal is spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before going home.
Over the past two years, California Adopt-a-Pet Day has helped 8,588 pets find loving homes, and this year organizers hope to surpass 5,000 adoptions in a single day.
Animal shelters continue to face overcrowding, and every adoption makes a difference. Come meet your new best friend and help create space for another animal in need.
Learn more at hstt.org and find participating shelters statewide at caadoptapetday.org.

STAY OUT OF FIREFIGHTING AIRSPACE.
Aerial firefighting is one of the most dangerous and time-sensitive operations. We must fly low, maneuver through rugged terrain, and make precise drops and communicate in real time to support firefighters on the ground.
All of it STOPS the moment an unauthorized aircraft OR unauthorized drones enter the area because the risk to our crews’ lives is too great.
When a drone or private aircraft is spotted near a wildfire, firefighting aircraft must be grounded until the airspace is confirmed clear.
When our aircraft are grounded, the fire continues to move.
In those lost minutes, the fire grows, threatens additional communities, and reduces our ability to support firefighters on the ground.
If you fly, we can't.
