Hello humans, K9 Hondo here to wish everyone a Happy Halloween and share a few safety tips. If you are going out tonight, make sure to bring a flashlight and travel in groups. For anyone that will be out driving, please keep those phones down, wear your seat belt, obey posted speed limits, and watch out for pedestrians. Remember, I will be watching... unless I decide to howl at the moon. Be safe and have a great Halloween! 🎃 👻

As part of this unit, Detectives Nathan Henderson and James O'Fallon spoke with the students about cyber bullying and how to stay safe while online. These presentations were received very well. We are grateful to partner with local schools to help keep our children safe.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Last night, Prosecuting Attorney Matt Becker and I had the honor of attending a vigil to honor survivors of domestic violence, support those still struggling, and remember that even the smallest act of kindness can be a light in someone’s darkness.

Everyone has the power to be an advocate. Whether it’s offering a listening ear, sharing resources, or simply speaking up when something doesn’t feel right — your voice matters. Your actions matter. You can be part of the change.

If you or someone you know is facing domestic violence, please know you are not alone, you are not to blame, and there is help. Let’s stand together, speak up, and shine hope into the places where it’s needed most.

I am sad to say that due to a leg injury that required surgery, the decision was made to retire K-9 Kilo. We'll miss K-9 Kilo on the streets and at the PR events we attend, where so many children loved him. Don’t feel too bad for him, though. He has recovered, joined retired K-9 Rolo, and is beginning to reap all the benefits of the fat, happy, retired life. His new activities include eating cheeseburgers, lounging on the couch, and getting up to mischief. So, please join me in saying we’ll miss you, K-9 Kilo. Thanks for the wonderful 4 years of service to the citizens of Franklin County!
Enjoy the following images of K-9s Kilo and Rolo (with some memes sprinkled in).
