Our artists are now deep into their 8-week U.S. residencies through Transatlantic Stars, spread across the country as part of our Visual Arts Program. New materials, new collaborators, new creative territory.

With artists from both the EU and the United States, this cohort is all about fresh collaborations, unexpected creative chemistry, and new sounds shaped on both sides of the Atlantic. They are getting ready to dive into the Philadelphia music scene and we can't wait to see what happens when different genres and languages come together. 🇪🇺 🇺🇸

🇪🇺 Today is ! 🇪🇺 Otherwise known as the best day of the year. 🥳

But seriously, there is much to reflect on. Over 75 years ago, the signing of the Schuman Declaration united several European countries so there would be no more war. Today we are a thriving 27 members, standing for peace, democracy, and equality. We are the European Union.

Follow along over the next several days as we share how our Delegation, as well as consulates and communities across the United States, are celebrating this milestone day in our history. Because Europe’s influence goes far beyond Washington!

As part of our celebrations throughout the month of May, we also make sure to honor those Americans who have greatly contributed to the transatlantic relationship. This is especially notable given Europe's role in America's 250-year history.

On Wednesday, May 13, we will host the Transatlantic Bridge Awards to thank U.S. Senator Chris C***s, Gov. Spencer J. Cox, Dee Dee Bridgewater, and Jillian Manus of SHIELD Capital for their support. 🌉

And in this 250th year since America's founding, we think back to such a decisive moment in our shared history. Together, Europe and America restored peace and changed the world for the better.

👋 Meet the Transatlantic Stars 2026 Film Finalists 🎥

Five filmmakers from the EU have been selected for the inaugural year of our flagship cultural initiative, Transatlantic Stars, and they are about to land in the United States!

After a competitive process and evaluation by a jury of film industry pros, they will be the special guest stars at the 20th anniversary of Berkshire International Film Festival. Next, they will spend a week in Hollywood to delve into the U.S. film industry. Each of them brings a unique perspective that highlights the shared values, challenges and goals of our transatlantic relationship.
