THE WOLFPACK CREATES

Each week, Washington Global's Jamaica cohort participates in a Try-It Thursday activity, where scholars try a new activity to express themselves, expand their skillsets, and become more comfortable with trying new things.

Recently, the scholars created fluid paintings using math skills and art skills to create the fluid paintings.

Washington Global will have an early dismissal today, Friday, May 22nd at 2:15 PM. Please ensure that appropriate travel and pickup arrangements have been made so that all students are picked up promptly at dismissal time. Aftercare will not be provided as well.

Additionally, the school is closed on Monday, May 25th in observance of Memorial Day. Students should arrive on time on Tuesday, May 26th.

THE WOLFPACK ACHIEVES

On Friday, Washington Global held an assembly to acknowledge its scholars who have earned a spot on the school's Principal Honor Roll, AB Honor Roll, and 3.0 Honor Roll for the third quarter of the 2025-2026 school year.

Congratulations to all of our scholars who met this achievement!

In Washington Global's Korean class this week, scholars made Mother's Day cards.

They wrote the cards in Korean, and decorated the cards using traditional Korean origami. Check out their finished projects!

THE WOLFPACK CELEBRATES EARTH DAY

In honor of Earth Day, a group of Washington Global's scholars were invited on a fishing trip by MPD at Fletcher's Cove on the C&O Canal in Northwest DC.

While visiting the canal, the scholars practiced their fishing techniques, competed in an obstacle course, learned about the fish that live in the C&O Canal, and took to the water for fly fishing!

CLUB SPOTLIGHT - TRACK AND FIELD
Congratulations to Washington Global's track and field team for their performance during the last few meets at the PG Sports and Learning Complex!

Every member completed with Wolfpack Pride, and several players even earned first place in their events at different meets. The Wolfpack is extremely proud of their speedy scholars!

Beginning tomorrow, May 5th, all students at Washington Global will be taking the DC CAPE Assessment.

Students should get plenty of rest each night before testing, and eat nutritious meals. Also, students must arrive on time each day!

Last week, the eighth graders took a field trip to Polyface Farms in Swoope, Virginia to learn about the farm’s regenerative farming practices.

This field trip ties into the unit they have been learning about, which has included learning about regenerative farming in ELA class while reading The Omnivore’s Dilemma. At Polyface, students toured the farm; saw the cows, pigs, and chickens; and even got to hold newborn chicks!

CLASS SPOTLIGHT - CONSTITUTING AMERICA

Last week, Washington Global was joined by Constituting America, an organization that teached students about the history of the Constitution and their constitutional rights.

A group of Washington Global students were selected to attend Constituting America's lesson. They learned about the Constitution, earned prizes, and each got to take home a pocket-sized copy of the Constitution.
