How the Voting Rights Act reshaped Texas’ electoral maps 05/28/2026

An important read about the why the Voting Rights Act matters in Texas.

The Supreme Court got it wrong. Congress can make it right by passing a new law, the John Lewis Voting Rights Act, to protect right and the ability of voters to have a real say in elections in Texas and across the country and actually elect candidates of their choosing.

It's more important than ever for Texans to engage and participate in the work to ensure that all Texans and all Americans can have a real say at the ballot box.

USCIS is applying long-standing law and prior court decisions to require certain aliens with temporary visas who decide they want to permanently reside in the U.S. to return to their home countries to apply for permanent visas through the U.S. Department of State.

We're returning to the original intent of the law to ensure aliens navigate our nation’s immigration system properly.

This Memorial Day, we remember the Americans who have died while serving in the United States Armed Forces, making the ultimate sacrifice for our country's highest ideals: our rights, our freedoms, and our democracy. We should do this every day. And we must honor them by continuing their defense of these ideals and our fellow Americans.

An op-ed from Mini Timmaraju, who grew up right here in the Houston area ➡️

Abortion is an economic issue Republicans aren’t ready to face Eight in ten Americans support legal abortion. The question for candidates in 2026 is whether they will meet people where they are — or continue to ignore an issue that voters see as central to the…
