🚨 TRAFFIC ALERT 🚨

I want to advise motorists that all northbound lanes of Interstate 45, just south of the FM 660 exit, are closed as authorities investigate an overnight incident involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is leading the investigation.

Please seek an alternate route and use caution near the area. Thank you for your patience as investigators work.

🍂 🕰️ FALL BACK & STAY SAFE 🚨 🏠

The Ellis County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind everyone that Daylight Saving Time ends this weekend.

Before going to bed on Saturday, remember to:

🕰️ SET YOUR CLOCKS BACK ONE HOUR and enjoy the extra hour of sleep Sunday morning.

🔥 CHANGE YOUR SMOKE DETECTOR BATTERIES! Take a few minutes this weekend to replace the batteries in your smoke detectors and test them to make sure they’re working properly. This simple step could save and protect your family.

✅ A little preparation goes a long way toward keeping your home and loved ones safe!

Have a safe & enjoyable weekend Ellis County.

The Ellis County Sheriff’s Office is paying our respects to Deputy Adam Sherifi with the Van Zandt County Sheriff Office.
Deputy Sherifi paid the ultimate sacrifice to his county and the great State of Texas on the 20th day of October, 2026.

Rest In Peace brother, we’ll take it from here.
