A little more color is coming to downtown Wenatchee!

Installation is underway on Columbia Street for the winning mural from the inaugural Columbia Street Mural Fest! Created by local artist Kathleen Dyer, the artwork celebrates the Wenatchee Valley’s agricultural roots with a beautiful orchard scene.

The mural is being installed on the Regional Port’s Lineage property as part of a collaboration with the Wenatchee Downtown Association to bring more public art to our downtown.

We’re excited to see this space transformed and proud to support a project that celebrates our community’s history, local artists, and the continued vibrancy of downtown Wenatchee.

Next time you’re downtown, take a walk along Columbia Street and check it out!

We’re excited to share that Brooke Lammert, Economic Development Specialist, is featured in Ward Media’s 2026 Women in Business special edition!

In the feature, Brooke reflects on her career in economic development, the importance of building meaningful relationships, and the lessons she’s learned about leadership and creating opportunities for others.

“Some of the most meaningful impacts you can make aren’t necessarily the ones that carry your name. They’re the ones that continue to make a difference long after your involvement.”

We’re proud to have Brooke alongside the many incredible women who make up our Regional Port team, each bringing their own experience, perspective, and dedication to the work we do across Chelan and Douglas counties.

Last week, the Chelan Douglas Regional Port Authority welcomed the Malaga Colockum Community Council and interested Malaga residents for a tour of our Malaga Cooling Water Disposal Facility. Community members brought thoughtful questions and important perspectives, creating an opportunity to discuss how the facility operates, how water quality is monitored, and the safeguards in place to support responsible operations.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to an open, informative conversation. We’re committed to keeping our community informed, and we’ve launched a new webpage with an overview of the facility, its operations, and monitoring practices.

As we work to meet our region’s evolving economic needs through innovative infrastructure, we recognize that maintaining public trust starts with transparency, accessible information, and open communication. These commitments reflect two of our core values: Innovative—adapting to changing needs and embracing new ideas—and Trustworthy—maintaining the public’s trust by communicating effectively and openly.
