Welcome to our official page! Serving and protecting the Westernport, MD community with dedication—100% volunteer, 100% committed.

Engine Tanker, Engine, Rescue, Brush, Command Unit, Utility, & UTV. President Bill Kight Jr. | Chief Tim Dayton. Potomac Volunteer Fire Company is 100% volunteer serving the areas of Westernport, MD, McCoole, MD, and Luke, MD, all in Allegany County, MD. About 3,900 citizens encompass our first-due area. We also run mutual aid to Mineral County, WV, and Garrett County, MD. We operate four units an Engine-Tanker, Engine, Heavy Rescue Squad, and a Brush Unit. We have approximately 50 volunteer members and associate members. We also are a member of the Allegany County Special Operations Rope Team, a Member of the Allegany Garrett Counties Volunteer Fire Rescue Association, and the Maryland State Firemen's Association. We're proud members of the Allegany Garrett Counties Volunteer Fire Rescue Association and Maryland State Firemen's Association.

New Rescue Equipment Alert!

Today, we took delivery of several new pieces of rescue equipment purchased through grant funding!

Our new equipment includes:

- Hurst SC 358 E3 Connect Combi Tool Package with 9Ah battery
- Two Hurst CR 522 E3 Connect Ram Kits with 9Ah batteries and extensions
- TeleCrib Strut Truck/Tripod Kit

This equipment will enhance our vehicle extrication and rescue capabilities, helping us better serve our community when emergencies happen.

We also plan to host a public vehicle extrication demonstration in the future to showcase this equipment and provide an educational look at how our rescue personnel respond to vehicle emergencies. Stay tuned for a date and more details!
