🚒 Duty Night at Reese — More Than Just Training!

Last evening, members of Reese & Community Volunteer Fire Company came together for Duty Night — an opportunity to train, strengthen skills, enjoy some camaraderie, and simply spend time together.

The evening also included a home-cooked meal prepared right at the firehouse and shared family-style around the table.

And what better way to wrap up the evening than with a quick trip to Hoffman’s — a longtime local favorite — for a little dessert? Ice cream, of course! 🍦😋

Because sometimes the most important moments at the firehouse happen when the equipment is put away, the training is finished, and everyone has a chance to relax, share a laugh, and enjoy each other’s company.

It’s evenings like these that strengthen the friendships, teamwork, and sense of family that make Reese more than just a fire company.

Good training. Good food. Great company. And ice cream! ❤️🚒🍦

When we asked five Reese VFC volunteers what drives them to serve, one answer kept coming up: SERVING OUR COMMUNITY. ❤️

Because when an emergency happens in your neighborhood, it's your neighbors who answer the call. People who live here, work here, and care about keeping Carroll County safe.

And there's always room for more neighbors to step up.

Reese VFC is more than a fire company. It’s neighbors showing up for neighbors across Westminster and Finksburg. 👍

Not every hero runs into fires. Our Auxiliary raises funds to support the crew, and our volunteers plan events, educate the community, support EMS, and keep the station running. Every role matters!

Make lasting friendships, learn new skills, and join a crew that looks out for each other and our community.

🎃🚒 TRUNKS, TREATS & FIRE PREVENTION! 🚒🎃

What a SPOOKTACULAR afternoon at Reese & Community Volunteer Fire Company and our Reese VFC Community Trunk or Treat! 👻🍬🚒

Today, our Reese VFC family welcomed ghosts, goblins, superheroes, princesses, and plenty of other creative characters for our annual Community Trunk or Treat!

While the candy and costumes were certainly a highlight, today's event was about so much more than Halloween fun. It was about bringing our community together, connecting families with their local volunteer fire company, and sharing an important message about FIRE PREVENTION and SAFETY! ❤️🚒

🔥 FIRE PREVENTION IS EVERYONE'S RESPONSIBILITY! 🔥

As we celebrate Fire Prevention Month this October, here are a few important reminders to help keep your family safe:

🚨 Smoke Alarms Save Lives! Install smoke alarms on every level of your home, inside bedrooms, and outside sleeping areas. Test them monthly!

🏠 Have a Home Escape Plan! Know two ways out of every room, establish a safe meeting place outside, and practice your escape plan with your family at least twice a year.

👨‍🚒 Firefighters Are Your Friends! Teach children that firefighters are there to help, even when wearing their full protective gear and breathing apparatus.

🍳 Keep an Eye on What You Fry! Unattended cooking is a leading cause of home fires. Stay in the kitchen when cooking on the stovetop.

🎃 Celebrate Halloween Safely! Choose battery-operated candles for jack-o'-lanterns, keep costumes away from open flames, and make sure decorations don't block exits.

❤️ A HUGE THANK YOU to our Reese VFC members, volunteers, families, and everyone who helped make today's event possible! And to all the families who joined us, THANK YOU for spending part of your Sunday with us!

Events like these remind us that being a volunteer fire company is about more than responding to emergencies. It's about education, prevention, building relationships, and serving the community we proudly call home.

We hope everyone had a wonderful time, collected plenty of treats, and took home a little fire safety knowledge, too!

🎃 Have a SAFE and HAPPY HALLOWEEN from your friends at Reese VFC! 🚒❤️
