Day of Service at the Veterans Memorial in White Pine, TN

Post 12244 VFW Day of Service activities. It is our pleasure to assist the Veterans and citizens of White Pine.

Thank you to the town of White Pine for showing up for our Loyalty Day celebration. It was a great day of patriotism and making new friends.

VFW Freedom Post 12244 coordinated with Cocke County High School Navy JROTC program in Newport, TN, to establish a relationship between our post and the JROTC program and to support the annual cadet awards ceremony. On April 28, 2026, VFW Freedom Post 12244 Senior Vice Commander, Russ Turner, awarded the VFW Leadership certificate and medal set to Heaven Evans, a senior at Cocke County High School in Newport, TN. Post 12244 is currently seeking to establish Voice of Democracy and Patriots Pen essay contests in the county's high school and middle schools seeking to begin the writing contests in August 2026.
