Location: Concord Pike at East Park drive

Earlier today, Talleyville Fire Company responded to the area of Concord Pike and East Park Drive for a reported hazardous materials incident involving a tractor-trailer.

Ladder 25, 258, and 258C responded to the scene. Upon arrival, crews determined that a chemical was leaking from the trailer.

The driver was evaluated and transported to a local area hospital.

Delaware DNREC hazardous materials personnel responded and worked to stabilize the situation and contain the leak. The scene was subsequently turned over to DNREC and decontamination personnel for further mitigation.

As previously posted, Talleyville Fire Company was dispatched for a lost child in the woods of Brandywine State Creek Park. Yesterday, the first arriving crew which included Firefight/EMT Brian Pollack Jr, Firefighter/EMT Joe Garone, and Firefighter Garrett Checchi who were all a part of the K-9 search team and were the individuals who located the child, were able to meet with the child and his family. We are happy to report that everyone is doing well. We would like to again thank all of the assisting agencies.
