The City of Winona, Anthem Skatepark, and the West End Recreation Complex Fundraising Team are excited to announce the grand opening of the new free, outdoor, concrete skatepark on Saturday, November 7, at 11:00 a.m. Everyone is invited to celebrate as the Winona Outdoor Skatepark officially opens to the public following a ribbon cutting ceremony at the West End Recreation Complex located at 800 W. 5th Street, Winona, MN 55987. Attendees are encouraged to bring their boards, scooters, bikes, and helmets and other safety gear to try out the new park. Free Coke and Powerade will be provided by Coca Cola of Winona.

This project was made possible through a combination of State of Minnesota capital investment funding and private community fundraising. In the 2025 legislative session, the State enacted a capital improvement appropriation that included $550,000 to the City of Winona for a skatepark. In addition, the West End Rec Fundraising Team raised $148,000 from local donors to help complete the project.

“This skatepark is a tremendous addition to Winona’s skate-and-ride community, and to the park system. Because it is free and open to everyone, there are no barriers to participation. This project would not have been possible without Zach Krage and the fundraising team, the enthusiasm of our skate community, and the generosity of local donors. We are thrilled to open this incredible new space for everyone to enjoy,” said Patrick Menton, Director of Parks & Facilities.

“Winona has always been home to a passionate skate community, and this project elevates that energy to an entirely new level. Primary Concrete created a world class design, and we can’t wait to see skaters discover new lines, push their creativity, and build community in this new space,” said Zach Krage, Owner of Anthem Skate Shop and Manager of the Winona Indoor Skatepark

The concrete skatepark was designed and constructed by Primary Concrete Skatepark Company, an Austin, Texas-based firm nationally recognized for high quality skatepark development.

Reading about the Spooky Hollow Haunted Walk in a bright room is easy. Stepping onto the dark, foggy trail at night? That’s where things get real.

Once you’re out there, every snap of a twig and rustle in the trees will have you looking over your shoulder. Shadows stretch, the mist settles in, and the trail delivers every bit of the chill you came for.

If you're up for the thrill, make sure you lock in your spot early!

Just thinking about the Spooky Hollow Haunted Walk is enough to make your pulse spike. But reading about it from the safety of your screen is nothing compared to what’s waiting in the dark.

Out on the trail, the trees whisper, the fog clings to your ankles, and every shadow has a pulse. Fear isn't just an idea here—it's something you can touch, hear, and feel breathing down your neck.

Don't wait until it's too late. The only thing scarier than the path ahead is missing your chance to walk it.
