We are pleased to share our quarterly snapshot of work performed between July 1 and September 30 of this year.

You'll see we continue to advance projects and meet with towns, businesses, and nonprofits. This quarter staff:

Provided over 800 hours of assistance;

Worked with 14 of our communities and on countywide projects;

Hosted 4 workshops throughout Lincoln County;

Scoped, wrote, or supported applications for 8 grants on behalf of applicants; and

Created 3 useful guides for towns, among other accomplishments.

We are proud of the work Erin, Laura, and Alex perform every day on behalf of Lincoln County, its municipalities, residents, businesses, and nonprofits. A huge thanks to staff for their continued dedication to Lincoln County!

Tops'l Farm hosted last night's Waldoboro Business Association After Hours on a perfect, late October, autumn evening. Alex was very impressed with the farm's operation, which includes an impressive value-added enterprise that uses local food from area farms in dozens of products available through the farm's Season Box selection. The farm's 83 acres also welcome guests for retreats and events, providing opportunities for local food service and overnight accommodations. If you haven't been to Tops'l Farm before, we highly recommend finding an opportunity to visit or enjoy their products and other offerings.

The evening also featured what these after-hours events always foster: plenty of productive networking amongst nonprofit, government, and of course, local business guests. If you haven't attended one of WBA's events, check out their website for events and don't forget to sign up for their newsletter: https://www.waldoborobusiness.org/events

Finally, Alex was pleased to see Midcoast Conservency's Medomak Regional Stewardship Manager, Morganne Price, who was showing off her new wooden nametag. It was made in Maine from natural wood material. These wooden nametags are now part of a statewide trend that LCRPC is proud to have inspired!

Laura hosted a workshop for 40+ planners at the NNECAPA conference this week, sharing the work she’s been doing with the State’s Community Resilience Partnership, our County Hazard Mitigation Plan, and other resilience work.

Laura thoughtfully talked about community priorities, especially around more frequent storm events, the creative solutions towns are implementing, and facilitated a tabletop exercise with participants.

The work Laura has been performing at LCRPC for the last 4 years has been top-notch and it was a joy to watch her share her knowledge with the rest of northern New England!

Special thanks to Erin for helping with the tabletop exercise! We’re proud to have such an incredible team.

Lincoln County is proud to have two fellows working in our communities this cohort, Emerson in Damariscotta and Liz on Monhegan!
