LODD: Honoring Officer Paul “Pete” T. White, Jr.
End of Watch: October 27, 1973.

This week we want to take time to remember Officer White. He was responding to a call for service when he was involved in a vehicle crash near the intersection of Route 15 and Route 234 in Haymarket. Sorrowfully, on October 27, 1973, Officer White succumbed to his injuries and became the first line of duty death in our department’s history. Pete was 23 years old and had served with us for two years. He had previously served with the Metropolitan Police Department, in Washington, DC, for one year. He was survived by his wife, parents, and two brothers.

We will always remember Pete and his dedication to Prince William County. We honor him as we continue to serve the community that he once did.
