This past weekend the WMTFD had the privilege to participate in this full-scale exercise at the York State Fair Grounds.

We would like to thank the York County PA Office of Emergency Management for inviting us and allowing us to be a part of this event.

WMTFD Chief Laughman had the privilege to serve as the Safety Officer for the exercise.

The primary election is tomorrow, May 19th. The Township offices will be closed to walk-in customers due to the municipal offices being used as a polling place. We appreciate your understanding.

🚨WMTFD TAKES DELIVERY OF NEW RESCUE 🚨

This week the West Manchester Township Fire Department took delivery of a new 2026 Pierce Enforcer Heavy Rescue.

The new rescue features a 565hp Cummins x15, Harrison 25KW PTO Generator, 6-man cab, 60-gallon CAF system, Air Reel in bumper for air tools, 2 electric cord reels, 10,000lb portable winch with receiver locations on all 4 sides, high and low anchor points, LED scene lighting, Hi Viz Visor Scene Light, LED compartment lighting, Will-Burt Light LED Tower, compliment of ladders, and much more.

This rescue was designed by the members of the WMTFD with our current operations and future operations in mind. We want to thank the West Manchester Township Board of Supervisors and the West Manchester Township Relief Association for funding this purchase and for all of the support they provide to the WMTFD.

We also want to thank Pierce Mfg, Glick Fire Equipment Company and our sales rep Cyle Sheaffer for the excellent service they provided and making the process of designing, building and delivery simple and painless.

Over the next several weeks and months, the members will start to train with the new rescue as well as start moving and mounting equipment from the old rescue to the new rescue. We hope to have the new rescue in service by the end of the summer early fall. Look for future announcements for its dedication and housing ceremony.
