The time has come…

I fully back the stance taken by Tshwane city manager Johann Mettler against senior officials involved in the rigged Rooiwal tender. If these folks are allowed to come back thanks to ANC and EFF patronage, it will destroy the culture of accountability many of us have been fighting for.

*Unregistered DA supporters can deliver a majority in Tshwane*
by _Ald Cilliers Brink - DA Tshwane Mayoral Candidate_

Date: 18 June 2026
Release: Immediate

- Voter registration weekend takes place this weekend.
- Unregistered DA voters can deliver a majority in Tshwane.
- We call on all DA voters to register to vote this weekend.

The Democratic Alliance (DA) calls on all eligible voters in Tshwane to register or update their voter registration details this weekend.

Based on DA data modelling for the City of Tshwane, the DA can reveal there are currently an estimated *320,593* unregistered or incorrectly registered DA supporters in the metro.

To put this into perspective, the ANC received only *234,521* votes in the 2021 local government elections.

This means that the number of DA supporters who are not correctly registered to vote is significantly larger than the ANC’s entire voter base in Tshwane.

If every incorrectly registered or unregistered DA supporter gets themselves registered, the DA can win in Tshwane, and get our City working.

The areas with the highest estimated number of unregistered or incorrectly registered DA supporters are:

- *Centurion – 41,756*
- *The Moot – 47,594*
- *Pretoria East – 59,445*
- *North of Pretoria – 35,104*
- *Pretoria CBD – 20,566*

The DA assures these voters, that your vote will make a difference. Your vote can only make a difference, though, if you become correctly registered to vote.

If every unregistered or incorrectly registered DA supporter in Tshwane registers and votes, that group of residents will secure a DA majority government that delivers reliable service delivery, safer communities, clean public spaces, and an uninterrupted supply of water and electricity.

The power to take back Tshwane and get it working for all is in the hands of the residents of Tshwane. The government elected after 04 November, is in the hands of voters who are correctly registered to vote.

The first step is simple: register to vote at

The EFF trash the Union Buildings then use municipal resources to clean the mess. This sad sack is the Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) for waste management in Tshwane.

🗞️ *GNU Reshuffle: What Does It Mean?*

President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced changes to the Cabinet, including several adjustments to DA ministers and deputy ministers within the Government of National Unity.

🔹 *John Steenhuisen* moves from Agriculture to become *Deputy Minister of Trade, Industry* and Competition.

🔹 *Willie Aucamp* takes over as Minister of Agriculture.

🔹 *David Maynier* moves from the Western Cape Education portfolio to become Minister of Environment.

Several DA Deputy Ministers have also been reassigned. One of the most notable appointments is that of *Jack Bloom* , who leaves the Gauteng Legislature to become Deputy Minister of Water and Sanitation.

The GNU has presented unique challenges for Deputy Ministers, who operate under ANC Ministers and alongside ANC Deputy Ministers. It remains to be seen whether these new appointments will be able to drive stronger accountability and reform from within government.

📊 *Meanwhile, a recent business survey highlighted growing concerns around BEE compliance:*

• 37% of firms are non-compliant or rated at Level 8 (the lowest level of compliance).
• 67% of respondents have no BEE shareholders.
• Many businesses described the system as complex, uncertain and difficult to implement.
• Nearly a quarter of respondents indicated they comply only to the minimum extent required.

As one of the ANC's flagship economic policies, these findings raise important questions about whether the current BEE framework is achieving its intended objectives.

💬 What are your thoughts on the Cabinet reshuffle and the future of BEE in South Africa?
