LUANGWA DISTRICT DEPLOYS 34 VOTER EDUCATION FACILITATORS AHEAD OF THE GENERAL ELECTIONS.

Today, Luangwa District deployed 34 Voter Education Facilitators to all 17 wards across the district in readiness for the Voter Education exercise, which will commence on 1st June 2026, ahead of the upcoming General Election.
The deployment marks an important step in ensuring that eligible voters receive accurate and timely electoral information, enabling them to participate effectively in the electoral process.

PUBLIC SENSITIZATION ON THE REVISED CASH FOR WORK (R-C4W) PROGRAMME
Luangwa Town Council's Revised Cash for Work (R-C4W) Technical Team has continued conducting community sensitization activities to ensure that members of the public understand the requirements and guidelines for participation in the programme.
Members of the public are encouraged to note that the Revised Cash for Work Programme is designed to provide temporary employment opportunities to eligible Zambians through participation in community-based public works.
To qualify for registration, an individual must:
Be a Zambian aged between 18 and 59 years and possess a valid National Registration Card (NRC);
Be unemployed but willing and able to work;
Have resided within the district/constituency for at least six (6) months;
Not be currently benefiting from any cash-based assistance programme;
Include persons with disabilities, women, youths, and individuals who have exited the Expanded Social Cash Transfer programme and are willing to work.
The public is further informed that:
During mass/pool registration, a maximum of five (5) individuals from the same household may be registered;
However, only two (2) members from the same household may participate in a given month;
Registration will not exceed twenty (20) days;
Mass/pool enrolment will be conducted once every six (6) months; and
Beneficiaries will be selected monthly from the registered database on a first-come, first-served basis, according to the allocated number of beneficiaries per constituency.
Please note that the following individuals are not eligible to participate in the programme:
Public Service workers; and
Individuals employed by private sector companies or civil society organizations.
The Revised Cash for Work Programme is being implemented across all constituencies in Zambia and supports activities under Infrastructure and Civil Works, Natural Resource Management, and Water and Sanitation Management.
Community members are encouraged to participate in the sensitization meetings and ensure they understand the programme requirements before registration.

Luangwa District successfully concluded a five-day Voter Education training programme today on 29th May, 2026 which was held at Justfeli Lodge.
The training prepared Voter Education Facilitators with the necessary knowledge and skills to deliver voter education messages and support electoral awareness ahead of the forthcoming General Elections.
