Today we proudly launched Reconciliation Week with a whole school gathering on the oval. Students and staff came together in three circles, symbolising connection, community and the enduring importance of Aboriginal perspectives and culture.

Wearing a touch of yellow to represent our connection to Country and to ground us to the Earth, we stood together to participate in a whole school Acknowledgement of Country.

A meaningful way to begin a week of listening, learning and strengthening relationships as we walk together in reconciliation. At TPS, we're all in! 💛

Dear School Community,

Please be advised that under no circumstances is anyone to enter the school grounds this weekend, Saturday 2 May and Sunday 3 May, as licensed contractors will be undertaking asbestos remediation works onsite.
For the safety of all community members, the school grounds will be strictly closed for the duration of these works. This includes access for recreation, play, sports, or any other purpose.
We ask that all families and community members respect this closure and avoid entering the site this weekend.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we undertake these important safety works.

Sincerely,
Yunni

🇦🇺🇳🇿🌹 Lest We Forget
Their sacrifice, our freedom.

Today, and every day, we honour the courage, sacrifice and resilience of our servicemen, servicewomen, and service animals — past and present.

On this day of remembrance, we pay tribute to the Anzac spirit and those who gave so much in service of others.

We will remember them.

In a world that can sometimes feel heavy with hate, division, and uncertainty, Harmony Week reminds us of something powerful — we all have the ability to choose love, kindness, and hope.

Every smile, every act of understanding, every moment of compassion makes a difference. Together, we can create a community where everyone feels seen, valued, and respected.

Our diversity is our strength. Our unity is our power.

Let’s stand together, lift each other up, and be the reason someone feels they belong.

Strength in unity!

If you get a chance, take a minute to look at our Harmony Heart messages along the back fence with your children.

South Australia’s first national Spelling Bee champion! 🎉

Congratulations to Elsie from Torrensville Primary School who has become SA’s first national champion in the Prime Minister’s Spelling Bee, now in its fifth year.

Elsie topped the Orange division (years 5–6) with the only perfect score in the final round. Heading into round three, Elsie said she was “really nervous” but focused on slowing down and giving it her best.

A wonderful achievement 📚✨
