🎸 Did You Know?

On 12 June 1976, The Saints entered Bruce Window Recording Studios in West End to record their debut single, (I'm) Stranded.

The rest, as they say, is history.

Today, we're at the Precious exhibition, joined by MoB's Brian Ogden and Eomer Sweet Rose, exploring the lasting influence of The Saints on Brisbane's music scene and their impact on Australian music, bands, and cultural tastes.

Through Precious collector Donat Tahiraj's unique Terry Murphy poster collection, we're tracing the stories, venues, artists, and moments that helped shape a musical legacy.

Come and check out Precious at Museum of Brisbane ✨
Free entry | 10:00am-5:00pm I 7 days a week

🧡 What a fantastic artist talk with MoB Artist in Residence Martin Edge!

Joined by Pia Robinson from The Culture Crusader and facilitated by MoB Assistant Curator Gabrielle Bergman, Martin shared the creative journey behind his vibrant Fairfax Gallery murals, Welcome to Brisbane, and the stories that inspired the project.

The event wrapped up with a signing of his colouring book and the opportunity for guests to meet Martin in person.

There’s something powerful about learning beyond the classroom.

Charlotte, a teacher at Silkstone State School, reflects on the value of hands-on learning at MoB — giving students the opportunity to ask questions, explore objects from the past and connect with the world around them.

Be part of making these transformative experiences accessible to all students.

All donations made by 30 June 2026 will be matched dollar for dollar.*

Celebrating our Artist in Residence, Delvene Cockatoo-Collins - Quandamooka artist, weaver and storyteller ✨

In Warrajamba, Delvene shares her connection to Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island) and Mulgumpin (Moreton Island) through weaving, printmaking and natural materials gathered from Country — talwalpin (beach hibiscus cotton tree) fibres, yungair/yungaire (freshwater reed), quampie shells and natural dyes.

During National Reconciliation Week, and in the spirit of this year’s theme, All In, we’re honoured to celebrate living culture, storytelling and connection across generations.
