Gascoyne RSL Sub-Branch

The RSL has a proud tradition of serving current and former members of the Australian Defence Forces

The RSL was founded in 1916 to provide comradeship and support to Australia’s Veterans and their families. That core mission has never changed, but continues to evolve to meet the needs of each generation of servicemen and women. We have a branch network that covers Australia and any Veteran who needs help will get it - every serving ADF member and Veteran will be warmly welcomed at their local RSL Sub-Branch or club. We advocate for the best possible conditions for our serving men and women, and for those who have served the nation in the past. We foster respect and thanks from the nation for all those who have made sacrifices in Australia’s name and we will provide a strong voice on issues of national unity and security.

🚙 FOR SALE – 2015 MAZDA BT-50 GT

💰 Asking Price: $25,000
📍 Odometer: 194,000 km approximately
📅 Year: 2015, Registered until Feb 2027
🔑 Ownership: One owner – Deceased Estate

Contact Phone Number - 0417 927 721

A Well-Travelled, Well-Equipped BT-50 GT

Offered for sale as part of a deceased estate, this 2015 Mazda BT-50 GT has been a trusted companion to its previous owner for many years.

A one-owner vehicle, it was used prudently, primarily for travelling between Western Australia's South West and North West. Consequently, many of its kilometres were accumulated on longer highway journeys rather than through constant stop-start town driving.

🔧 Features & Additions

This BT-50 comes equipped with a number of useful additions, including:

Bull bar and associated bar work
Driving lights
Roof rack
Long-range fuel tank
Tow Bar
Off Road Tyres (4 x 60% wear) 1x Spare, tyre never been on the road.

According to dealers, this is the BT-50 GT variant, which features additional equipment, including upgrades to the sound system and suspension compared with lower-specification models.

✅ Recent Mechanical Work

Some recent mechanical work has been completed to help prepare the vehicle for its next owner, including:

Automatic transmission seals replaced
New battery recently installed
❤️ A Vehicle with a History

Sadly, the previous owner is no longer with us to share the many stories and memories accumulated over years of ownership and travel.

He genuinely enjoyed this vehicle and would regularly speak about it with great enthusiasm. It served him well on his travels throughout Western Australia, and we hope its next owner will enjoy many more kilometres of adventure.

💰 Asking $25,000

A practical, well-equipped touring vehicle with a known ownership history and useful extras already fitted.

Genuine enquiries welcome.

Saturday 29th Aug saw a good portion of the RSL Committee, along with a number of members, hard at work during a busy bee at Quobba Station.

The team carried out some much-needed repairs and maintenance to the HMAS Sydney Cairn, which had been well in need of a little TLC since its installation back in 1981.

The Gascoyne RSL and the working party would like to sincerely thank the owners, management team and caretakers of Quobba Station for their incredible generosity and support. They kindly provided equipment, hardware and materials required to carry out the works, as well as accommodation for the working party.

This support was greatly appreciated and played a significant part in making the project possible.

Thank you to everyone involved in helping preserve this important memorial and piece of local history.

Saturday saw a good portion of the RSL Committee, along with several members, hard at work during a busy bee at Quobba Station.

The team carried out some much-needed repairs and maintenance to the HMAS Sydney Cairn, which had been in need of a little TLC since its installation back in 1981.

It turned out to be hot, hard work, with the sun having a fair bit of bite — particularly on Sandy’s head. A hat might have been a wise investment!

A big shout-out to Bruno, Ben, Brian, Felix and Sandy for making the job less of a burden and a lot more enjoyable. Despite the hard work, a good time was had by all.

We’re still trying to work out how Ben managed to clear and clean the entire walkway from the bottom car park to the Cairn in the same time it took the rest of us to clear around the Cairn and carry out repairs. Although, to be fair, the Cairn rebuild was a fairly significant piece of work!

By the end of the clean-up, I had also discovered that herding and capturing feral cats is considerably less dangerous to the bare arms than pulling out scrub and bushes growing in and around the Cairn.

A great effort by everyone involved, helping preserve an important piece of local history. Well done, team!

The BBQ will fire up this Friday at around 1730 hrs (5.30 pm for those who still haven't mastered the 24-hour clock!), with snaggers available for a gold coin donation, everyone is welcome—whether you're a Carnarvon local or just passing through.
As always, our well-stocked bar will be open from 1600 hrs (4.00 pm), and for those who prefer something without the kick, we'll have soft drinks, tea, coffee, and maybe even a hot chocolate on offer.

The working week is done and dusted and you may be happy to know your local RSL is opening for you enjoyment between 16.00hrs and 19.00hrs

Unfortunately the Gascoyne RSL will not be opening this coming Saturday 29th Aug, as the RSL committee, a number of its members, and few friends of the RSL are having a busy bee at Quobba Station, where we will be carrying out some repairs to the HMAS Sydney Cairn.
This piece of work is in preparation for the 80th anniversary of the Sinking of the Sydney and Kormoran

Needless to say the RSL will be back on track for our first Friday of the month Sausage sizzle the Friday 5th Sept.
