If anyone has lost a black leather wallet on the High Street today (Tues 20th Oct), it was handed into the Parish Office, but as we're shut over next few days I've left it with Hotbox for collection.

So happy to say that not only did we pick up a GOLD from the RHS Southeast in Bloom Awards for the War Memorial Gardens, but it also won overall category winner as 'Small Park of the Year'.
In addition we were awarded Silver in the Community Award category for the Community Gardeners, improved on last year's result for Parish in Bloom with Silver Gilt, and added a Silver Gilt for Lane End Cemetery and another GOLD for St Luke's Churchyard.
What an incredible achievement and testament once more to all the hard work of the Parish Council, all the volunteer gardeners, Debbie and Andy and the Warners Bembridge Coast Hotel gardening team.

Our local neighbourhood PC will be dropping by the office next Tuesday 29th Sept to hold a beat surgery. If you have any issues that you'd like to discuss with him then please do pop along to the Parish Office in Foreland Road. Aiming for 12:30 - 13:30 but depends on how many people turn up really.

Very happy to say that at last night's Best Kept Village Awards we were awarded Best Kept Extra Large Village!!!
This is testament to the hard work of the Parish Lengthsmen, the Community Gardeners, Debbie and everyone who took part in this year's Bembridge in Bloom, the monthly beach cleaners and any resident who has ever tended a plant or cleaned up a piece of litter.
Bembridge should be very proud.
Now fingers crossed for the South-East in Bloom Awards next Friday!

Hello all,

Good news and bad news re: pickleball.

Bad news is that the lady who was keen to set up a club has had to pull out due to other commitments.

The good news is that Sue and Angus have agreed to run another open session this Saturday in the park from 09:00 - 11:00.
If you'd like to have a game and be shown the rules then please do pop along to Steyne Park.

And if you find yourself eager to start up a club then please do get in touch [email protected] and we can make arrangements.

Thanks
Mark.

Our Parish Lengthsmen have been putting the finishing touches to the refurb of the basketball courts, with new hoops and backboards. We have also taken delivery of new Pickleball equipment today too.
So all good to go for our Pickleball open session on Saturday at 13:00hrs. All welcome, equipment provided and a Pickleball England coach on hand to offer up tips.

We will be officially opening the new Pickleball courts at Steyne Park on Sat 22nd August at 13:00hrs. All welcome.

Simon Bolt, a Pickleball England coach, will be on hand to show us the basics. All equipment provided. So if you've ever thought of trying the sport, now is your chance.

(We encourage walking or cycling to the park, as the car park can get quite busy on a Saturday).

The surface refurb and painting of the old basketball court is done in the park and I have to say we think it looks great! The contractors have done a great job. It looks so much neater.
We're waiting on basketball hoops and backboards, and will be getting pickleball equipment, storage and working out a way to hire out the nets, paddles and balls.
Will post with further updates when we have them, but so far so good.
