βš“πŸ‹ Year 12 Outdoor & Environmental Studies Excursion πŸ‹βš“

Last week, our Year 12 Outdoor and Environmental Studies students travelled into Docklands to board the iconic MV Steve Irwin as special guests.

The now-retired β€œeco battleship” played a major role in Sea Shepherd’s campaigns to end whaling in the Southern Ocean, physically placing itself between whaling ships and the whales they were protecting.

As part of their studies into environmental conflicts and activism, students explored the different ways groups influence environmental decisions and the lengths some are willing to go to in support of their conservation beliefs.

It was a fascinating and thought-provoking experience that brought classroom learning to life and encouraged students to reflect on passion, courage and environmental responsibility. 🌏

πŸͺ¨πŸŒΏ Year 9/10 Outdoor Education – Caving Adventure! 🌿πŸͺ¨

Our Year 9/10 Outdoor Education class recently enjoyed an exciting caving experience at Shiprock Falls in Gembrook. Students were challenged both physically and mentally as they explored the caves, worked together as a team, and pushed themselves outside of their comfort zones.

It was fantastic to see everyone supporting one another throughout the day, with many students demonstrating resilience, courage, teamwork, and a willingness to embrace new experiences. Experiences like these help build confidence, problem-solving skills, and strong connections with peers while enjoying the great outdoors.

A fantastic effort by all students involved! πŸ‘

Our Year 10 students attended the annual OELLEN Careers Expo at Caribbean Gardens, where they connected with local employers, training providers, and industry representatives from across the Outer East.

The expo gave students the opportunity to explore future pathways, ask questions, and gain insight into a wide range of careers and industries. Many students enthusiastically got involved in the hands-on activities on offer throughout the day.

A fantastic day of inspiration, discovery, and future planning! 🌟
