Loneliness and social isolation can have a significant impact on older people, but meaningful connections can make all the difference.

We're proud to have contributed to a national ABC Radio story exploring this important issue.

🎧 Tune in tonight at 6.30pm on ABC Radio Gold Coast (91.7 FM), listen via the ABC Listen app, or hear the five-minute audio feature online by clicking the ABC link and scrolling to the photo of Darren and Joseph and pressing play > https://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-10-28/loneliness-isolation-old-bastards-regional-rural-australia/107312856?utm_source=abc_news_web&utm_medium=content_shared&utm_campaign=abc_news_web&utm_content=link

A wonderful opportunity to hear firsthand how volunteer visitors are helping older Australians feel connected, valued and less alone.

More than half of Australians say they're lonely — but rural areas are 'isolation hotspots. So, how are small community groups helping?
