A great milestone for our community! 🎉

Mayor Nina Dillon was delighted to take part in the sod-turning ceremony for the new inclusive swing at Victoria Park.

"This important project will give people who use wheelchairs the opportunity to play, connect and enjoy the park alongside their family and friends," Mayor Dillon said.

Council thanks the Australian Government and the Veolia Mulwaree Trust for their support, alongside Council's contribution, in bringing this exciting project to life. Together, we're creating a more inclusive and welcoming community where people of all abilities can participate and feel connected.

Making play more inclusive in Goulburn

It was wonderful to join the Minister for the NDIS, Senator Jenny McAllister, Goulburn Mulwaree Council, the Veolia Mulwaree Trust and students from The Crescent School for the official sod turning of a new inclusive We-Go swing at Victoria Park.

The project is supported by a $128,000 Australian Government grant through the Accessible Australia Initiative, alongside contributions from Goulburn Mulwaree Council and the Veolia Mulwaree Trust.

Once complete, the new swing will make Victoria Park a more inclusive and accessible place, giving children of all abilities the opportunity to play, have fun and enjoy time alongside family and friends.

Every child deserves the opportunity to join in, and it’s fantastic to see this investment helping make that possible in Goulburn.

🚧 Progress from Above: Investing in Better Roads for Our Community 🚧

From the streets of Goulburn to our rural road network, major infrastructure projects are continuing to deliver safer, more reliable and more resilient transport connections for our community.

These aerial and progress images showcase three significant projects:
✅ Lansdowne Street Upgrade – A major road reconstruction and pavement rehabilitation project that has improved road durability, drainage and kerb infrastructure along this important residential and commercial corridor. With line marking scheduled this week, the project is nearing completion, with final inspections expected in November.

✅ Clinton & Deccan Streets Intersection Upgrade – The new roundabout has enhanced traffic flow, improved pedestrian connectivity and delivered safer travel outcomes for motorists and pedestrians alike. While we've shared updates before, this new aerial view provides a fresh perspective on the scale of the completed works.

✅ Currawang Road and Causeways Upgrade – This significant rural infrastructure project includes around 10 kilometres of road improvements, drainage upgrades, bridge approach works and two new raised culvert crossings. Despite storm damage impacting the project during construction, improvements were incorporated and works have continued, with completion anticipated in November.

These projects reflect Council's ongoing commitment to building infrastructure that supports our growing community, strengthens connectivity, and serves residents well into the future.

📸 Take a look from above and see the works for yourself.
