Our Textiles Volunteer is looking forward to working with a range of different materials. Do you have something made of fabric that needs attention and love? It does not have to be clothing, it could be a favourite cushion cover, a well loved handbag’s inner lining, or even the lining of a jewellery box! While our volunteers do have some materials to assist in the repair, if it is something like a clasp or zip, please supply your own.

We are very excited to share we have just received confirmation our resident Cabinet Maker is able to join us this coming Saturday, to help fix any woodwork items you might have that need attention. Previously, we have seen him work miracles on dog beds, towel stands, chairs, coffee tables, and even repairing an axe handle! Do you have anything you are not sure how to fix, that he might be able to offer expert advice on?

Always popular, our sharpening expert is warming up his sharpening tools. Bring on down a maximum of 2 items (ie. Not a full knife set, just your two most frequently used knives), and see how much it can help you work safely in the kitchen (or efficiently in the garden)

Has your favourite mug’s handle broken? Is the arm on your porcelain doll needing surgical re-attachment? Or even a treasured plastic toy.

Bring them along to Repair Café, and our volunteers can help you make them whole again.

Please note-glue available is not food safe. It is also suggested that you bring a container to cradle your item in transport home, and depending on item, props to support the parts while glue is drying.

Because this is a new offering after the bookings were opened, please book under ‘Sewing/patches’ and put ‘glue’ in the comments section with what your item is.

Do you have a frayed cord on your favourite lamp? Is the switch on the electric lawn mower loose? Bring your electrical items along for our volunteer to have a look at, and hopefully fix. Please note if you need a plug replaced, you will need to bring your own (can be purchased at your local hardware store).
