Coming soon! We're so excited to be able to share a little more about our new permanent local history exhibition - Mawambul: Here. Together. - opening 20 November 2026.

Created with community, Mawambul brings together the people, places and experiences that have shaped our region. Featuring original objects, dynamic interactives, and a central film experience exploring Wiradjuri Country and culture, the exhibition reveals connections throughout our regional communities and across generations.

There is no single history of our region. Mawambul invites visitors to discover its many layers and explore how the past continues to shape our lives today.

Join us for the opening of Mawambul on Thursday 19 November from 6pm, as we celebrate the Museum's 10th birthday. Tickets are free and all is welcome! To book your spot head to https://10yearsofORM.eventbrite.com.au

Mawambul has been made possible through the generous support of Newmont Cadia.

Happy birthday to our friends and neighbours Orange Civic Theatre for reaching the big 5-0!

Officially opened on 9 October 1976, the theatre has been a critical piece of cultural infrastructure in our region for five whole decades!

Years of community advocacy went in to realising the dream for a professional-grade theatre in Orange, encouraged by community arts organisations. The Orange Festival of Arts had a notable impact on the push for a theatre in the 1960s and 1970s - as well as an art gallery in the 1980s.

The legacy of the Orange Festival of Arts is still felt in our community today. From thriving cultural institutions to community arts groups, our city is stronger for it.

Keen to discover more about this community arts festival that changed the face of Orange? Visit the Museum to see ‘ASSEMBLE’, now showing.
