Kalinda Primary School

The rain held off for our 2nd visit this term to see our friends at Oban Pre School. Senior students apply for the opportunity to visit the kinder to share a favourite picture story book and have a play, and it’s the highlight of our week! Thanks for having us Oban pre school we can’t wait to see you again soon!

On Monday our Prep students went to Myuna Farm. They had a wonderful day learning about animals and exploring the farm. It was a special day of fun and adventure, thanks to the help of Kalinda staff and the generous time of some parent volunteers.

We were so proud to hear so many compliments from farm staff and visitors (and even the bus driver!) about our curious learners, who represented our school in such a joyous and respectful way. Well done legends!

We had the pleasure of celebrating some phenomenal Kalinda people today, as we recognised World Education Support Day (which was on Saturday this year!)

The amount of work and care these legends bring every day is momentous and whilst we see lots of what they do we know there is so much more!!! Aides in the classrooms, office staff, SAKG, canteen, first aid, facilities, MultiLit and so much more.

A morning tea, cards, respite from duties and handmade crowns for the literal Queens and King of Kalinda!!!

It has been an exciting day for Kalinda, with some talented senior students spending the day at Hamer Hall in final dress rehearsals for the NEVR Concert this evening.

We have students joining the combined schools choir, as well as our senior Highland Dancers being specially invited to perform.

What an honour and momentous occasion in such a grand venue! CHOOKAS to our performers and a million thankyou to Mrs Butler and Cheryl for leading and inspiring our students.

Today we celebrate the mothers, carers, aunts, grandmothers and mother-figures in the Kalinda community. We are so grateful for your love. 🩷
On Friday our Prep children and teachers spoiled their special ladies with a shared breakfast, gift and story time. We hope you enjoyed your morning!

Camps are a special and valued part of our programs, with grade 2 day camp right through to annual camps at Grades 3,4,5 and 6. Our camps build connections, challenge, resilience, friendship and respect and we are very grateful to our staff for building such amazing experiences.

Last week our 5/6 cohort came back from camp and oh what adventures they had! From immersing themselves in the Gold Rush era at Sovereign Hill to facing their nerves on high adventure activities it was a great success! Thank you staff and helpers for ensuring the time of a lifetime 💙 .
