Let’s make Halloween inclusive for everyone!
No age limit on Halloween fun - Trick-or-treaters come in all shapes, sizes, and ages. Everyone deserves to join in the fun!
Keep sensory needs in mind - Bright flashing lights, loud noises, and spooky surprises can be overwhelming. A calmer welcome can make all the difference!
Communication comes in many forms - Words aren’t the only way to say “Trick or treat!” Gestures, signs, communication devices, and support from caregivers all count.
Costumes are optional - Some trick-or-treaters may wear headphones, carry comfort items, skip the costume, or need a little extra space. That’s okay!
Offer choices - Holding out two treats or showing a couple of options can make it easier for someone to choose what they’d like.
Be flexible, be patient, and be kind. There’s no one right way to trick-or-treat. A little understanding can make a big difference!
The best Halloween treat is feeling welcome. Let’s make sure everyone has a place at the door.
