Totally Awesome Super Kids (TASK) doing totally awesome things!
TASK (Trades Awareness, Skills & Knowledge) students continue to make a BIG impact across our school district!
This month, students in the TASK Metalwork Program at EMCS have been putting their creativity, skills and craftsmanship to work on some incredible projects!
-Competing in a Rocket Stove Competition - a huge congratulations to Emma, who took home the win!
-Designing and building polygon fire pits (available for purchase!)
-Creating welded cups and other metalwork projects
-Fabricating a large recycling bin for the school to securely store recyclables, with proceeds going right back into school-based programming!
And a shoutout to TASK student Logan, who designed and fabricated several motorcycle stands. What an impressive example of student innovation and hands-on learning!
Following the Rocket Stove Competition, students enjoyed a well-deserved lunch prepared by the EMCS Culinary Program. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate their hard work while bringing together the school community and post-secondary partners who help make the TASK Program possible.
A huge thank you to Benjamin Haber, TASK Metalwork/Metal Shop teacher, for organizing these opportunities, and congratulations to all the students, staff and partners involved!
These are more than just metalwork projects. They're opportunities for students to build confidence, develop real-world skills and discover what's possible through trades education.
