We don't often post on a Friday, but how could we not seeing as today is ! Who's wanting what from the chippy?

Once again, oor is focusing on the tatties! We've had some brilliant responses so far - if you've got a cracking memory of howking spuds, or a photo you'd like to share, give us a shout in the comments! You'll be featured in our pop up later this year - honestly, all the cool kids are doing it!

We know we've posted this one before, but what better photo to celebrate , eh? This is Ken Grehan, back in 1930, winning the cycle race at the Abernethy Highland Games. Tell us in the comments if you've been oot on yer bike today!

In other news, Social Media Guru has acquired an apprentice - so the quality of oor posts will increase tenfold from next week 🤣 Please be gentle with her, we cannot scare her away...

We’re interrupting our usual meander to tell you all about our next fun event this summer! This one’s for the kiddos (although we’re all young at heart and we absolutely won’t judge if some of our less youthful followers fancy having a go 😂). Join us on Saturday 13th June from 1.30-3.30pm to have a go at creating your own historical artefact - it could be a Pictish stone, a Roman coin, or even a wee homage to our ! The event’s free and there’s no need to book - just pop in and join in the fun!

Right then, Facebook, we’re having a go at something a bit different on our socials for a wee while! We’re calling it “My Museum”, and we’re starting off with a suggestion from one of our lovely volunteers who particularly likes the TV footage on oor Big Telly. they love it because it has “the familiar faces of days gone by, 1983 the opening of the tower and 2000 opening of the museum, and all around the village”. We love it too - big thanks to Trustee Amy for digitising the old videos we had so we can play them throughout the afternoon!

Had an absolute blast at the PTA fun day today! Made loads of new pals, picked up a wee fluffy cat, won some felt pens at the SWI, and got a monster mask from the Kirk (no sniggering at the back). Settling down to colour it in, cos a challenge might've been issued... 🤣

Found at the top of the tower earlier this afternoon - if anyone's lost a car key, it's at Museum HQ!
