Peel Land – Manchester Road Hollins Green 31/05/2026

I wanted to make Bowdon ward residents, particularly those in Warburton and Dunham, aware of a new consultation on proposals just over the border in Hollins Green (off Manchester Road, between Warburton Bridge Road and the Ship Canal).

The plans would see up to 200 new homes built.

This is a sizeable development very close to our rural communities, so it’s important local people have their say, particularly on issues like traffic, infrastructure and the impact on the surrounding countryside.

🗓 Consultation closes: 10 June 2026

You can view the plans and share your views here:

https://manchesterrdhollinsgreen.consultationonline.co.uk/

Whether you support or have concerns, please do take a few minutes to respond - local voices matter and will help shape what happens next.

Fantastic news from the team at Church on the Brow - thoroughly deserved 👏

We’re excited to share that we WON the Congregational Federation 'Serving the Community' award.

As a small church at the heart of this community, this award means so much to us. It’s a reminder that even small acts of love, welcome, faith and service can make a big difference.

We want to say a huge thank you to every volunteer who gives their time, care, energy and heart to our church and community week after week. This award belongs to all of you.

Above all, we thank God for His faithfulness, guidance and the opportunities He gives us to serve others in Jesus’ name. ❤️

Teenage girl bundled into car in 'random' suspected abduction in Altrincham 20/05/2026

Like many residents, I was deeply shocked and disturbed to hear about the frightening incident involving a teenage girl in our community earlier this week.

My thoughts are with the young girl and her family following what must have been an incredibly traumatic experience. No one should ever have to endure something like this, and I know many parents across Bowdon and Altrincham will feel understandably shaken by what has happened.

I want to thank Greater Manchester Police and Cheshire Police for their work in locating the victim safely and making an arrest.

As local councillors, we will continue working closely with Greater Manchester Police, Trafford Council and local partners to ensure residents’ concerns are heard and that community safety remains a top priority.

*Traffic safety at Altrincham Grammar School for Boys*

Earlier today, I met with Mr Wright, Headteacher of Altrincham Grammar School for Boys, regarding the road safety challenges on Marlborough Road.

It was great to discuss this alongside my colleagues, Cllr Phil Eckersley (Bowdon Ward) and Cllr Natalie Shalom (Hale Ward) to address the concerns being raised locally.

Key concerns are peak-time congestion, unsafe and inconsiderate parking, and instances of poor driving behaviour which create genuine risks for pupils, parents and other pedestrians in the area.

There is a shared understanding that the situation needs to improve, but also a recognition that any solutions must be practical for both the school and the surrounding community to ensure that safety is actually improved rather than simply shifting problems elsewhere.

Our focus is to ensure that the safety of children and residents is prioritised.

Fly-tipping is unacceptable, and this location is outright dangerous.

If paying someone to dispose of household items, please ensure that you only use licensed waste removal companies.

It is the householder’s responsibility to verify that the company holds the appropriate waste carrier licence. If any discarded items are later found containing your personal details, you may be held responsible and could receive a fine.

Trafford Conservatives

Conservative councillors have reported a serious and frankly disgraceful case of fly tipping right in the middle of Dairyhouse Lane today.

This kind of selfish behaviour is completely unacceptable. It creates a hazard for motorists, damages the local environment, and leaves residents dealing with the mess and frustration.

The issue has now been formally reported to Trafford Council for urgent action under reference: CAS-209760-P7K8.

If anyone has information about who is responsible, please report it to the Council. Residents should not have to put up with this sort of behaviour in our area.

The Social Value Fund 13/05/2026

🚨L&Q Group's Social Value Fund🚨

I wanted to make you aware of a new funding opportunity that may be of interest to local organisations supporting residents in our area.

L&Q Group has recently launched its new Social Value Fund, an open grant programme for organisations delivering activities that benefit L&Q residents and local communities.

Eligible organisations can apply for grants of up to £10,000 for projects starting from September onwards. Full eligibility criteria, application guidance and the application form are available on the website linked above.

Please note that the application deadline is 5 June 2026.

The process is two-stage, with shortlisted applicants invited to present their proposal to the Social Value Fund panel, who will make the final funding decisions.

If you have any questions about the fund or application process, you can contact the team directly at [email protected].

I would encourage any eligible community groups, charities or resident-led organisations to consider applying and to share this opportunity with others who may benefit.

The Social Value Fund The Social Value Fund provides funding and wider support to local projects that create positive change for L&Q residents and our communities. Find out more.

Issues with drainage along Charcoal Road was reported last week (CAS-201040-R0T6).

I've been informed that works has been been carried out and that this should now be clear.
